It was in my local paper that leeds united ladies are struggling for money for a variety of reasons and are wanting £10,000 or players sponsoring for £500 also though Sue Smith is going to be writing a column for the yorkshire evening post which is fab

Oh wow! Well, funnily enough I have £10,000 on me right now! Will write in... Wink

That's good that Sue is going to write a column, I'm surprised Sue hasn't got a sponsor Confused

Interesting news. I wonder if they had any link with the mens club who are in such financial difficulties. Is this another Fulham , except in the middle of the season? With a cup final to come I'm sure the players will stay loyal for a while. Whatever the reasons lets hope they can get some support to carry on because they are becoming a force on the field with lots of young players at England u19 and senior level.

I think some players are sponsored I know Jess Clarke is as my dept at work sponsor her

Yes some of it is due to not getting finance or training facilities from the mens team

I thought I read somewhere that the men's team gave full support to the women's team Surprised I hope we're not gonna lose another team due to lack of funding and support.

I don't think this will be another Fulham story, at least I hope not! I reckon they will get the funding, they must get a few bob from the up coming final and they can't have done that badly with the FA Cup Final.
I reckon most of the players will get sponsors as for the £10,000 well they might be lucky and get a company to sponsor them for a bit.

ASDA was only for the Final wasn't it? Too bad they couldn't have stayed on Rolling Eyes

It's so annoying that top teams from the Womens Premier League don't get sufficient funding.

I went to see Arsenal play them away 2 or 3 years ago, the ground is horrible muddy as hell and hard to find by public transport. I will go there this season again if I have any money left after the trip to sweden.

The worst ground to find is still the Doncaster Belles' one - Leeds' is ok Laughing Wink

But Leeds' is prob the worst as for the state of the pitch
- or maybe second worst after Chelsea Ladies'.

Chelsea's new ground is much better than Hampton was, although they've played so few home games this season that we've yet to see it in really wet conditions. Talking of new grounds Donny Belles are playing their first game at the new ground called the Keepmoat with a 15000 capacity. They will join the mens team and the rugby league club. Bet I can guess who will be postponed or have matches rescheduled to fit in with the other teams needs. Probably the Belles will end up back at the place you described quite often... still, in theory a good venue for their games from now on.

Just to add my bit to this topic, the goals from today's game were on Sky Sports news.
Natalie Preston and Lucy Ward put Leeds 2-0 up, but Donnie were 2-2 at half-time through Vicky Exley and Pauline Hamill.
But Ward, Rachel McArthur and Amanda Barr sealed the Leeds win Smile
