Confidence will be absolutely shattered after only managing a draw from the game.

I'll give us two more games before definately ruling out us staying up. Next game is Gillingham away who are 19th. Had a 2 - 2 with them earlier in the year, no reason why we can't pull off a win.

It's all over. 2 - 1 loss to Gillingham leaves the Bees 9 points from safety with 6 games to go.

Another late goal has ruined the Bees. This time an 88th minute winner.

Sad Sad Sad

It'a all over now.

2 - 0 down to Cheltenham who are the team sitting one place above the relegation zone. This win will take them 12 points over the Bees with 5 games to go. There's no way that Brentford are going to win their last 5 games and Cheltenham won't win one.

Gone from the Playoffs and the brink of the Championship to League Two in such a short period of time Sad

Terry Butcher has been named as the new manager of Brentford, who have just been relegated to League Two. The former England captain will take charge on 7 May, two days after the final game of the season at Tranmere.

He was in charge of Sydney or Melbourne or someone recently wasnt he? Reasonably high profile anyway so hopefully he manages to bring in a few good players

Sydney and had fallen out with practically everyone in the club. Sydney's highest profile shareholder, Anthony LaPaglia had a few run ins with him, all the players wanted him out and the fans disliked him.

He's an alright manager, should do well at League Two level but has serious anger issues and is hard to work with from what i've been told.

New Brentford manager Terry Butcher has appointed former Bees striker Andy Scott as his assistant.
Scott, hugely popular with Bees fans during a career of just over three years at Griffin Park, was sold to Oxford in 2001.

He moved on to Leyton Orient in 2004 but a year later was forced to retire because of a heart problem before being appointed as the O's youth team coach.

"It's great to be back and I can't wait to get on with the job," said Scott.

Brentford have binned Terry Butcher - Andy Scott has been installed as caretaker manager for the game against Wrexham this weekend.

Quote:
The Bees are currently just four points clear of the League Two relegation zone, having lost six of their last seven matches in all competitions. Speaking after Saturday's 1-0 defeat at home to Grimsby, Butcher had insisted he would be able to turn the team's fortunes around. "I'm very confident that I'll be given more time and there is a lot to work with here," he said.

"The genuine fans who were applauding the players off the pitch can see what is going on. Within 10 minutes of the final whistle on Saturday I'd had several fans come up to me and say positive things. It is a tough time for everybody but I've faced adversity in my career before and come through the other side and I will continue to do that."
