oo a Scottish page well good to see them playing England at Wembley Stadium can't wait to go see that one best go ahead
so what do people think Scotland's chances are of qualifying for the european cup then?

Denmark will probably win their group
but Scotland will still have a chance to qualify in further play-offs
if they finish second in group.
I think they should qualify

Scotland all the way
they wont win the group but with Fleets they'll prob qualify - their getting better and better, so all good signs from them

yeah i reckon they will surprise a few people this year I'm actually thinking they can win their group but hey we shall see

I doubt well win the group but i think we have a damn good chance of qualifying. Always gotta support and have faith in the national team and if we win its a bonus. Well for me anyway. If the squad play the way a lot of us believe they can we should do alright.

As for the friendly against England, all im saying is that it should be an interesting game lol Might be a little optamistic of me but i think we might just give them a bit of a shock.

The women's national coach at the SFA
brings great experience from a country
where women's football is much better organised.
The Swedes are ranked fourth in the world
and, while the Scots have a long way to go,
their position has improved in the 18 months
since Signeul took charge.
Next week she takes her side to Cyprus
to take on her own country
for the first time in a tournament
which also includes world No.10 Japan.

What's your best moment with Scotland?
The European Championship match against Switzerland at McDiarmid Park last year
when we won 1-0. That was such an important three points in our campaign.

And your worst?
I've not experienced one yet
- and I hope it will stay like that for the next few years.

Which is your favourite away ground?
Any that we get three points...
This is a difficult question for a national coach to answer
as we don't always play in the same stadium.
Playing in Germany is always a good experience
as the standard of the stadium is usually very good,
they normally have good crowds
and matches are televised so all round it is a good experience
for the players and coaches.

Who has been your best player since coming here?
I don't really want to single out individuals.
But Julie Fleeting, Jo Love and Shelley Kerr have all been very important players for Scotland
over the two years I've been here.

What is your favourite goal of all time?
Maradona for Argentina against England in the 1986 World Cup
when he took the ball from around halfway,
beating many players before slotting into the back of the net.

Who was your most influential manager?
Pia Sundhage from Sweden.
She supported my education and development as a young coach
and I was also her assistant with the youth national teams
before I started to work at the Swedish FA and we became colleagues.

What is your favourite piece of memorabilia?
The gold medal I have from being the coach of the Swedish Under-19 team
which won the 1988 Uefa Championships. We beat Germany and Norway.

Which is your favourite kit?
The 1978 Scotland top.

Who is the greatest Scottish player of all time?
Julie Fleeting with 89 caps and 93 goals.

What one thing would you change about Scottish football?
I hope the environment for girls'/women's football in Scotland improves.
I'd also like to see a change of season so there is a winter break
as so many games are cancelled over this period,
which then causes problems in all areas.

SCOTLAND WOMEN GO DOWN TO JAPAN Wednesday, 14 Feb 2007

Scotland lost their first game of a two match tour, 2-0 to Japan at the Dasaki Stadium in Cyprus this afternoon.

Despite Scotland being well organised and working hard in defence, the Scots conceded from two corners scored off the head of Sakaguchi of Japan, one in each half of the game, in 43 and 70 minutes.

Scotland continued to work hard, performing better in the second half, to break down Japan, but the combination of opponents who played the game with high intensity and the poor use of the ball by Scotland when they were in possession added to their demise.

Coach Anna Signeul said: "Obviously we are disappointed at conceding two goals from set pieces, especially as we were well organised in defence, but lack of focus and poor marking at the set pieces has cost us dearly. We need to work harder when we are in possession of the ball, as we gave it away so easily today."

There was one positive aspect to the game for Signeul today as Kim Little, aged 16, made her ‘A’ squad debut today coming on as a substitute in the second half and putting in a performance which pleased Signeul enormously.

Scotland will now prepare to face Signeul’s former colleagues when they play Sweden on Saturday 17 February in their last challenge match of this trip.

Gotta small feeling that if they can't beat or draw level with Japan the scots are gonna stand no chance with Sweden.

Sweden hasn't staretd the season yet and only just draw against Japan, so I would say Scotland have a fair chance. But perhaps not a big one.

Scotland Women’s ‘A’ squad, despite putting up a very brave performance, lost 1-0
to Sweden in an International Challenge match in Cyprus this afternoon.

Scotland’s performance saw them go in at half time drawing 0-0,
with Sweden who are preparing for the FIFA Women’s World Cup
in China in September this year.

A big loss to Scotland was that of their captain Julie Fleeting,
who suffered a head-injury on 15 minutes
but valiantly played on until half time.
Fleeting was replaced by an emerging star in the shape of 16 year old Kim Little,
who on her second senior cap, put in a very impressive performance.

The Scots held on, absorbing much Swedish pressure until the 80th minute,
when their was a lot of pressure outside the Scotland box,
despite many attempts the ball couldn’t be cleared to safety,
which left an opening for Sweden’s midfielder, Nilla Fischers
to score the only goal of the game in 80 minutes.

This was a very credible performance by the Scots,
National Coach Anna Signeul, herself a Swede, was pleased with her teams performance
and commented; "I think we played very well, we had a good attacking game.
I really feel the team are getting stronger with each game we play."

Scotland now look forward to their next International Challenge match against England,
this will be the first match to be played at New Wembley on 11 March 2007.

The game at Wembley is probably going to be re-arranged to another date.

The "community day" at Wembley set for March 3rd has been re-scheduled for March 17th, and as this was designed to be the first of 2 events staged prior to the (men's) FA final for safety reasons, the England - Scotlan game on March 11th may be moved.

(BBC says it's against Holland btw )
