Daish sets Fleet transfer agenda |

Gravesend boss Liam Daish said he is looking to bolster his strikeforce during the January transfer window.
The Kent side are currently fourth in the Conference and 10 points behind leaders Dagenham, and Daish is also hoping his side can close the gap. "I could probably bring one player in, maybe a striker or perhaps a defender," Daish told BBC Sport. "To be fourth is a good position. We still have a long way to go but if things go our way you never know." He added: "The lads have worked very hard up to this point. We've had a few indifferent results but, on the main, we've coped very well." Daish said a change to the Conference promotion system would provide a huge bosst to the clubs in the top half, but he also understood why the current structure remained. "I suppose it protects the league teams, with only one going up automatically and one through the play-offs," he added. "But any team that finishes third, and ahead of fourth by a lot of points, would feel very hard done by if they miss out on promotion. "Everybody knew the rules at the start of the season so we will have to put up with it." |
