Teenage midfielder Mark Noble has signed a new four-year deal at West Ham.
Noble, an England youth international, only broke into the first team at Upton Park last season but with West Ham now back in the Barclays Premiership, manager Alan Parder has predicted big things for the 18-year-old. "We think very highly of Mark. He and his family love this club and he's made a terrific start to his senior West Ham United career," said Pardew. "If he keeps on working hard and continues to develop as he has, there is no reason why he cannot become a top player for this club." Noble joined the Hammers as a 12-year-old. He made his full debut in last season's FA Cup third-round win against Norwich and went on to make 10 starts and featured six times off the bench, including an appearance in the play-off final victory over Preston. Meanwhile, Pardew is looking forward to a home game, against Blackburn, in his first match as a top-flight boss following promotion via the play-offs. Pardew told the club's official website: "We're absolutely delighted to be back in the Premiership and starting our campaign with a home match. "Our fans thoroughly deserve that and we look forward to the arrival of Blackburn Rovers, who finished strongly last season. "One thing is for sure, Upton Park will be jumping on August 13." |
