Riquelme had a good half a year at Boca i caught some of the reviews on late night Channel five football.
He's a good player and god knows why Villareal dont play him.Maybe he just doesnt want to play for the Yellow Submarines anymore?Riquelme accepted a 5 month loan back to Boca Juniors on February 2007 Riquelme has played a significant part in Boca's success in the Copa Libertadores 2007, scoring against Vélez Sársfield in the round of 16, Club Libertad in the quarter finals and Cúcuta Deportivo in the semis, earning Boca a place in the finals. In the first leg of the final against Grêmio, Riquelme scored a goal and in the return leg, scored two more, crowning Boca as the 2007 Copa Libertadores Champions. He also won the award for the Copa Libertadores' Most Valuable Player. He has also been recalled to the Argentian squad for the Copa America this year(2007).

roma should buy him. he wouldn't cost too much as he's playing for boca on loan i think and villareal don't want him.
He's wage is out of our salary cup (€2,5 millions) and he wouldn't even be a starter I think.

---De Rossi Pizarro

Taddei Perrotta Mancini

----------Totti

His position should be Perrotta's spot but he would have to ruuuuun a lot. To play him we would have to change all the tactics..

maybe so, but still, he's much better than perrotta and taddei.

anyway, he didn't play for villareal because the manager didn't like riquelme turning up for training when he felt like it and thinking he was more important than the club. things like that.

Or Play:-
.................................................Doni...............................................................
Panucci.....................Mexes.....................Brau.........................Tonetto..............
.............................................De Rossi.............................................................
.............................................Pizarro................................................................
Mancini..............................................Riquelme...........................Perotta............
.......................................Totti..........................................................................
This way you have Totti as the main attacker with wingers cutting in who can also track back and provide a cross,Riquelme acts a the holding attacker or link man also covering for Pizarro to break forward.

Mate im not a big Taddei Fan but Perrotta is awesom he can virtually play anywhere in the Midfield he's also the first English man to lift the WC in 60 years!![/b]

[beep!] you!!! lol

you mean 40 anyway.

i do think he is good, sorry for under rating him. he's good, i know that.

i'm not a pizarro fan though, he isn't anywhere near as good as riquelme.

what about chivu? why isn't he in the team line up you posted? he's awesome! have you accepted that it's likely he'll be gone next season?

what about wilhelmsson? do you think he did well enough for you to make an offer for him?

Pizarro is untouchable and I prefer him to Riquelme as a centre midfielder

Chivu is gone. Barca or Inter but there're no hopes to see him again with an AS Roma shirt

Wilhelmsson hasn't been stunning the past season he never dribbles the opponent, seems a bit too "plain" player to me. We'll sign Esposito as a winger and at least one more winger but I very much doubt he'll be Wil unless he come again on loan

Anyway back on topic Riquelme in the Roma scheme wouldn't fit well. The 3 offensive players behind Totti have to do a lot of covering job they have to run.. and Pizarro do also a huge defensive work so Riquelme couldn't take his place in my opinion

I heard that Atletico de Madrid will sign Forlan and could sign Riquelme too. And then they would sell Torres.

Im a big fan of Riquelme but he wouldnt fit in our tactics neither. we dont need a slow playmaker like him, we only need someone to replace Nedved if he really retires and another replacement to Camoranesi if he really leaves (and probably will), so its 2 wingers. have been linked with van der Vaart and to replace Camoranesi we could also just play Marchionni

Great goal from Juan Román Riquelme for Argentina yesterday, it made me think why has he never played for one of Europe's top clubs?

I want him to stay in Europe. He should go to Italy. Juve, Fiorentina, Inter or maybe Roma could be ideal.
