As a huge Spurs fan n watching them as regularly as possible i've picked out assoue-ekotto as nothing worst then a player with steel toe cap boots on the wrong feet, who can only foul any decent player and what makes it worst he walks around the pitch chewing gum when he shud be not wasting precious brain space which our defnece needs (except chimbonda, dawson and king). i know quite a few people who think the same just wondering how many Spurs fans actually think hes poo.

We neeed a left back... BALE please come!!!

Hi mate - welcome to the forum.
I do agree with you that BAE isn't the most solid LB in the Prem, but you have to remember that this is his first season in the toughest league in the world and he's still only a youngster. I think that he has the potential to develop into a very decent player and afterall, in France he is seen as one of their hottest young prospects.
Perhaps we should only see BAE as back-up at the moment and perhaps it is Lee that is giving us the problems? I have to confess that in the past, I've not had a problem with Lee as our LB because afterall, he was a permanent fixture in the most successful Spurs team in recent years. Now though - having seen him run ragged in the Man U game - I'm not so sure about him.
I think that most Spurs fans would welcome a new LB regardless. Whether it be Bridge, Bale or someone else. I do however think there's a lot to be said for having an older (more experienced) player in a certain position, with a young talent as his understudy. Therefore I'm not sure if the combination of Bale and BAE would work particularly well. I think that if a new LB does arrive at Spurs, Lee will be the player who is shown the door.

BAE has a solid future ahead of him, he is a great ethlete and very good footballer. He will be starter for France one day, they have very high hopes for him.

However, right now he needs some really good tactical coaching regarding his role in the team and his positional play. He is young and naive and is shown up by some of the class acts in the Premiership.

Unfirtunately I dont think Jol is the man who can do this, Arsene Wenger would turn BAE into a world class leftback, he is the type of manager this lad needs to develop his game to a Premiership standard.

All the raw materials are there but irght now he is a liability when played.

Gareth Bale or Gabriel Heinze come in the summer and Ekotto can bugger off! (so can Lee)

Benoit Assou-Ekotto the most embarrasing Spurs player?!?!?! Are you insane man!?!?!

I think he is the best left back on our books at the moment. If you are looking for our worst player... in my opinion, Lee Young-Pyo is the worst player I have personally seen in a Spurs shirt. I actually hate him.

Lay off BAE. I really like him and don't get worried whn I see him in the starting line up.

Would rather Heinze come in and Lee left, then Ekotto can be given the time to develop into the class player it is obvious he can become.
