CRESPO TO RETURN?
Chelsea could recall Hernan Crespo from AC Milan after repeatedly failing to sign a world-class striker. Milan's Andrei Shevchenko and Inter's Adriano are just two of the players that turned down the chance to join the London billionaires, and Crespo has similar reservations after enjoying a less than successful time at Stamford Bridge. Milan deputy chief executive Ariedo Braida said: "Milan and Chelsea have an agreement for the renewal of the loan, but Chelsea are trying to convince him to stay in London." And Crespo said: "Surely Kaladze's negotiation has been involved in mine and something went in a bad way. But I'm absolutely confident in my agent Fernando Hidalgo who is working in a really good way to convince Chelsea."


RONALDO TO BARCA
Cristiano Ronaldo's agent appears to be encouraging Barcelona to bid for his client after Man Utd refused to be drawn into contract negotiations. The 20-year-old Portuguese star has has three years left of his current contract but agent Mendes wants Ronaldo's £14,000-a-week wages raised significantly. Mendes said: "We continue negotiations with United to improve his contract but there is nothing signed. There has been no offer from Barcelona but it wouldn't surprise me if they were interested."


BAROS ON HIS WAY?
Liverpool are interested in Lyon striker Sidney Govou. The French international is keen to leave France and fancies a move to the Premiership. According to various reports, Liverpool could arrange a swap deal involving unsettled striker Milan Baros. Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas said: "After what Sydney has done for the club, he has the right to go."
Liverpool are also considering signing Real Madrid midfielder Juanfran on loan for the season.
