Alan Shearer is backing Michael Owen to overtake him and go on to become England's greatest goalscorer.

Even if he catches Bobby Charlton - is he the best?!?

How can the tall dwarf be the best!

He lives on the dream of the Argentina goal, fair play he has scored some goals and stats do not lie being the facts but the likes of Geoff Hurst, Alan Shearer, Gary Lineker, even Ian Wright for my money! - Sorry not in the same class!

Time for Defoe i think!

Owen is a great striker but not in the Shearer and Lineker ilk!

He may beat the record but i think we have better players to come!

I think Shearer is better, super Andy Johnson has been superd for Palace and you got the Shrek A.K.A Rooney, so no not the best and Linaker etc.. from the past
