Right so I know its only February and the WC starts in September, but I thought it would be fun to see what people thought the probable team sheets would be now and how opinions would change over the next few months. Like after the Algarve Cup, friendlies or if players get injured, etc…
FIFA rules state 21 players (3 of which are goalies) per team, I figured we could have 4 extras (or alternatives) per team to account for injuries which have been sustained or could be sustained or players who are on the fringe of the team, ie: Lindahl is currently injured, as is Rottenberg, and will be touch and go whether they will be fit enough thus they could be alternatives.

I chose the USA, Sweden and England to do.

USA
GK: Solo, Scurry, Branam
D: Whitehill, Markgraf, Mitts, Chalupny, Rampone, LePeilbet, Lopez
M: Wagner, Boxx, Osborne, Lloyd, Averbuch, Miller
F: Lilly, Wambach, Tarpley, Kai, O’Reilly
Alternatives: Frimpong (Defence), Hucles (Midfield), Noguera (Midfield), Fotopoulos (Forward)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sweden
GK: Jonsson, Soberg, Lundgren
D: Marklund, Ostberg, Segerstrom, Westberg, Bregkvist, Thunbero, Larsson
M: Seger, Sjogran, Oqvist, Karlsson, Fischer, Olsson
F: Ljungberg, Schelin, Svensson, Lundin, Aronsson
Alternatives: Lindahl (GK), Almgren (Midfield), Nordin (Midfield), Rohlin (Defence)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

England
GK: Brown, Chamberlain, Fletcher/Hall (no very good with Eng goalies)
D: Unitt, White, Phillip, Asante, A Scott, Stoney
M: Chapman, Williams, S Smith, J Scott, Westwood, Carney, Yankey
F: Aluko, Sanderson, Handley, K Smith, Handley
Alternatives: Exley (Midfiled), Johnson (Defence), Barr (Forward), McDougall (Midfield)

Yes I had time on my hands Rolling Eyes ……Go on pick a team and have a go Wink

Clones? Wink

Looks about right in my mind. I can't do any other teams as my knowledge only stretches as far as the English borders Rolling Eyes Wink

Laughing you just reminded me about Jo Lohman, totally forgot about her, we need more than 4 alternatives or a 25 player squad Laughing

Hard to find 21 good players for England Confused I base it for England to play in 4-3-3

GK Brown Chamberlain Hill

DF White Phillip Unitt A. Scott Stoney Asante Basset

MF J. Scott K. Smith Williams Yankey Carney Exley Chapman S. Smith

FW Handley Aluko Sanderson

Back up Scheuber Davison Westwood Houghton

no idea why it would be that, I just wanna see that Laughing I figure starting with a 4-3-3 because Boxxy and Ozzy will own midfield leaving Aly freedom to roam as much as she wishes. If under pressure Kai or Lilly can drop back and form a 4-4-2 system.

I hoped you'd get my thinking, was waiting for you to slate me for leaving Rampone out ( Shocked I know I know, but I'm only allowed 11 players Laughing) Wink

So you got Mr Ryan's direct line? He and I have tactics to discuss Laughing

They both have the speed and good on the ball but I went with O'Reilly purely based on she has the more experience. It did kill me to drop her , but Kai is good to terrorize defences late on in a game.

Yea I see your point Wink

Tarpley - midfield or forward? I personally like her creating in midfield. (Mr Ryan read this)

Yep agree Aly is the one for creating but neither of us have put Tarps as a starter, so I think bringing her into the game later into midfield would be useful, maybe for Ozzy or perhaphs Aly, plus she gets forward well, she would bring alot as a sub. Am not complaining about her as a forward, dont get me wrong, but I like her in more of a creating role.

Gotta ask ya about Lloyd, what ya think? I like her; shes got a great strike on her, free-kicks she's not afraid to have a go!

There's just too many players to fit into this team!

As she's matured as a player I've grown to like her. She does have a good strike and eye for goal. Can't see her starting not with Boxxy back. Another good one to bring off the bench. Like you say too many good player's in this team.
