Injury progress pleases Robinson |

Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson said he is making good progress as he recovers from a knee ligament injury.
The England stopper, 25, was hurt in a challenge with Aston Villa's Darius Vassell in Spurs' 5-1 win on 1 May. "Anyone who knows me will know I'd rather be be ahead of schedule but it was quite a bad injury and I have to be patient," Robinson told Spurs' website. "The brace has been off for a while, I'm walking comfortably and I've been doing plenty of strengthening work." Robinson did not set a date for his return, but said he was hoping to be able to join in with pre-season training. "I hope to be running soon and with pre-season just around the corner, there won't be a shortage of that when I'm ready," he said. "Overall it's coming along well and I'm very happy with it." The injury ruled Robinson out of the final two league games of the season - ending his hopes of an ever-present Premiership season and also preventing him travelling for England's post-season friendlies in the USA. "I've never had an injury keep me out of a football match," he said. "As long as I could have stood up I wouldn't have come off the pitch but I was struggling to do that. It was so frustrating." |
