I another sad day in the ever growing decline of the a great British iconic brand.
I am absolutely gutted by the news even though my daily intake of those fine products have gone down due to adult dietary adjustments. I just hope the quality (no pun intended) of the product doesn't decline.

That's bad news I hope it's a dream I think I'm going to need some time out after hearing this, the only thing that could cheer me up is some fresh roses they would certainly give me a boost, if someone could save this from happening they would be my heroes.

yeah a sad day definately for the British industry ...as one of the workers interviewed said ...is nothing British anymore ? I absolutely love chocolate ..particularly Cadbury's and i will be gutted if this takeover affects the taste or quality of their products ...their easter eggs are by far the best ..

And look what they did to Terry's some years back ....eventually closed it all down .. and the famous Terry's Chocolate Orange is said to just not be the same by many people ..

When i was over there xmas i put on 6 pound before i even set foot outside of Heathrow because of Cadbury's Very Happy
I don't think you lot know how incredible British confectionary and cakes are , it the thing miss the most over here.
It a shame though ,why we can't hold onto these things that make that land special. Hopefully it will mean the stuff they import over here will be cheaper and if that's the case then i guess there's a silver lining i didn't expect. Sad state of affairs though i must say.

It may be a good idea to make a thread like the death poll but for British companies getting bought out. I would take part if i knew what was left.

Thats true.

I'd be more upset if I couldn't buy a bar of Cadburys fruit and nut than if Man Utd or Liverpool were to go under.

I think British people should feel very worried, what industry do you offer the world or it's economic future?
Selling all these Staples of British industry is a troubling trend indeed. I can name pretty much all of what every other industrial country bring to the world table ,but when it comes to Britain it's getting more and more difficult.

i don't understand that, absolutely disgusting. Not only do we lose one of our most prized and sought after products ,we have to basically pay for the Americans to take it!

as long as they do not change the recipe of the chocolate i dont care.

American 'chocolate' performs what is the biological equivalent of the Holocaust on my taste buds.

horrible, horrible stuff.

Kraft is more than just cheese, mate Razz

It owns a ton of food manufacturers including, but not limited to, Crystal Lite Juice, Maxwell House Coffee, Miracle Whip, and California Pizza Kitchen.

All of those pale in stature to the mighty cadbury's label mate. Flipping "Crystal Lite Juice" wtf is that ,i have lived in the US for 20 odd years and i never heard of it!

My greatest fear was echoed above ,changing the ingredients. I must say after some odd years of the US stuff i was given a box of cadbury's and after 3 chocolates i got a bit of a headache. My brain just either forgot how rich the English stuff was or they are making it stronger .
