Chelsea are also represented in the short-list for the Young Player of the Year Award, with 21-year-old Dutch winger Arjen Robben nominated.

Manchester United and England star Rooney_79586.shtml'>Wayne Rooney was selected, along with his Old Trafford team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo.

The remaining nominees all represent England's future, with Jermain Defoe, of Tottenham, Middlesbrough midfielder Stewart Downing and Shaun Wright-Phillips of Manchester City completing the list.

Who should win this and why?

I would say Robeen but obviously he hasnt played enough, I would have to give it to Shaun Wright Phillips or even Jermaine Defoe

SO MANY GOOD PLAYERS.

Arjen Robben - Hasn't played enough

Rooney_79586.shtml'>Wayne Rooney - Good, but temper temper

Cristiano Ronaldo - Poor start to season

Jermain Defoe - On and off

Stewart Downing - On and off

Shaun Wright-Phillips - Brilliant but can be off form

Between Rooney and SWP, although Robben was class when he played!

To be honest people say Rooney should get it but they payed £30m for him i think it should be given to someone who was at their club and have come on alot like shaun wright phillips

Rooney or Wright-Phillips
Rooney has had a great season and I think he deserves it. SWP can be off form at times but hes had a great season, it will be close!

I will go for Stuart Downing... no shadow of a doubt!!! For his first season in the Premiership he has been another class.... c'mon Stu!!!

it has to be robben, his impact and skill is emense for a young player.

downing hasnt actually had that good a season, it tailed off in november
probly SWP if anyone, why not Peter Crouch?

its gotta be robben really, even tho he hasnt really had that many games, he turned over so many teams by himself when he did play. pure class. Man U lost out by not gettin him.

peter crouch has only be playin well recently hasnt he..... downing would be a good choice actually
