Asian Champions League |
Kicks off this Wedensday night at 7:30pm (AEST).
Sydney are playing away at Shanghai while Adelaide are playing Shangdong at home. Unfortunately i don't think either team will do to well in this comp. As long as they put in respectable performances that's all we can ask in Campaign 1. Looking very much forward to it |

how many countries are there in this CL ?

Countries from all over Asia are represented...
Japan, China, Vietnam, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Uzbekistan, India, Korea etc. There's probably more but that's off the top of my head. |

it's not a CL for Dennis Berkamp, he must take the plane a lot.
You come near Europe in fact. |

Re: Asian Champions League |

did you see total footbal, mate. the previews of Aus opponents. From what that guy was saying, the aus teams should be able to not finish last, and the real tests will be against your shangdongs, shanghai, Urawa. |

You'd expect both teams to come third in their groups. If either were to qualify it would really be something. I'm hoping the stories of Shanghai's dramas help us out.

No i didn't see Total Football.
Do i care what Total Football has to say? No Can't stand Slater. |

Adelaide 1 - 0 down after 51 minutes. Own goal by Valkanis.

Adelaide lost 1-0
Sydney major upset beating Shanghai 2-1 Sydney looked unbelievable, with their gloves too, Arsenalesque. Sydney and Adelaide will have to have the biggest advantage going into A-league, as they will be a class above the rest. A-league a new league still, means will always noticeable improve each season for the first 5 or 6 years or so, as more and more clubs get into ACL it will continue to develop. |

I have heard that Korea has a good championship, it's true ?
Yes, The K-league is considered in the top 2 in Asia. Japan being the other one. |

ok in fact i've heard that the Korean championship is good, and the players are well paid in this championship, so they don't have to play in Europe.

yes, well many players from asia went to europe in last transfer window. Something like 20 players, im not exactly sure. But they are being found now. |

Both Aussie teams are back in action tomorrow.
Sydney FC take on Urawa at home in what should be an absolute cracker. I can't wait to see and hear the noise of the travelling Urawa fans. Adelaide United take on Dong Tam Long An in Vietnam. |

Sydney 2-2 Urawa Reds, those were soft goals against SYdney, we could have kept a cleansheet against the Man Utd of Asia!!
Adelaide also won their game 2-0 I think, can anyone confirm? |
Yeah 2 - 0 it was mate.
Did you go to the Sydney game? The Urawa fans were simply incredible. |
I couldn't get to the game, but you're right, the Urawa fans came across brilliantly just on TV - must have been something at the ground. Good result for Sydney, shame about Urawa's second, that was soft.
yeah I was at the game, my uncle works with Sydney FC so he and I waited inside the tunnel and I got a Sydney jersey signed and a Urawa jersey signed

Adelaide 2 - 2 Seongnam.
Adelaide were 2 - 0 up but obviously blew it. They sit in 3rd on equal puts with Seongnam. Sydney's game was postponed due to 'monsoonal' rain. The game is being played at 1:30pm AEST today |

sydney and united have no chance of getting to quarters.
