FFA boss Carroll quits |
|
A-League boss Matt Carroll has resigned his post with Football Federation Australia (FFA).
A key member of former FFA chief executive John O'Neill's team which introduced the A-League, Carroll will leave his job as head of operations next month. Carroll followed O'Neill to the FFA from the Australian Rugby Union after helping to organise the 2003 Rugby World Cup. FFA chairman Mr Frank Lowy said Carroll was leaving "to pursue new opportunities". "Matt has played an enormous part in the revival of football in Australia over the last three years," said Lowy in a statement. "He has overseen the creation of the Hyundai A-League from its inception, to the point where it is now a flourishing mainstream competition with great crowds and strong commercial foundations. "I am disappointed to see Matt leave... he leaves with our sincere gratitude." |

Interesting, very, did it say why he left, naa doesnt.
Anyway, well see. I just want some more money. NUFC, do you have any figures of what the ffa/aleague brought in last season (mvs season) as in, did we come in positive territory, who brought in the most money for ffa. Are we on an economic rise. |

I'm not sure mate. Each club received $1.2 million off the FFA to cover costs so that would've help re-coup some losses. The only teams finanical state i know about is the Jets.
In the first year we lost $2.8 million (not the worst, but not the best) but this year we only last $1.4 mill, half of last season. However when you look at it without the $1.2 mill from the FFA, we only improved $200,000. The reason we only improved by this much is due to the disagreements in the stadium with the Newcastle Knights, has nothing to do with the owners of the club. |
