I've seen him when he still played for Stuttgart. Bundesliga 2004/2005 it was I believe. He really only appeared on the scene as a good player in his last years.
He was well noticed in the league. Not the best but a key player for Stuttgart. Known for his long dribblings. In his 137 Bundesliga appearences he scored 13 goals. |

Yeah he played well his last year but didn't do much before that that set the world on fire.

How would you compare him to a player in the premiership at the moment, when he was in Germany?
In terms of quality in comparison to other players in the league. Pederson? Lennon? Malouda? Gerrard? Hunt? |

As soon as i saw Hleb at stuttgart i was dreaming that Wenger would buy him and when he did i was
over the moon.I juts saw that he had a certain dimension to his game that every club in the world would soon notice and admire. He was a good player for Stuttgart but i knew he would be a massive player for Arsenal.Last year when i said he would be the most important player for Arsenal everyone on this site laughed at me.Now even the pundits are calling him one of the best dribblers in the game today. I think his one short coming is his finishing.Even though i know he is basically a set up man,he has to add the dimension of an outside shot to his game to make him an even more important part of the team. When teams know you got no shot then they tend to play you a certain way.If he starts hitting the net,he will make openings for his teammates and make life impossible for opponents. |
