PINK?! How dare you insult my Masculinity like that........

It's more of a gentle lilac actually Wink

But no i haven't as of yet although it might take a while while i attempt not only to pick out the ones that don't clash with Reading home games i have to check both fixture lists against each other and figure out which Reading away games i am going to go to! Aaah!

Although the Ladies play on A Sunday so i shall be going to a fair few, when the Royals are playing on the Saturday. I live less than half a mile from where the Ladies play as well, which is a help!

There is a serious problem with the ladies website currently and although we are supposed to have completed 4 or 5 league fixtures and two opening cup rounds by now, it only displays our opening game result, a game i wasn't able to attend away at Oxford.

A game in which we lost 9-1.

Not the ideal start to a fresh campaign.

I saw they lost 18 (eighteen)-0 at Aldershot in the League Cup last week. Probably a weakened team for a mickey mouse cup ?

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

18-0?!

Dear O Dear, that really does shock me. As i said there are bad problems with the Website at the moment so the 9-1 defeat to Oxford United is all i know about but that result appalls me it really does, we have a very small squad so i don't really know if that much of a weakened team is that possible!

If it was a first team however i am genuinely alarmed.

I would of expected them to beat Aldershot Shocked to lose 18-0 is really embrassing for them. I wonder what squad was put out.

We did very well in the League against Aldershot last season so it is horrible. We've lost a few players over the summer and i am embarassed.

I'm not surprised your embarrassed , if it had been one of the big teams I could of understood it . Although you lost some player's surely there's enough talent there to put in a performance of some standard.

As i said though i didn't get to see the game although of course 18-0 is an embarrassment. It was the League Cup so as Pat said maybe a few of the key first team players were not playing as survival must once again be our main priority after escaping relegation by the skin of our teeth last season.

Other results from the Fair Game fixtures and results section- 0-9 against Southampton F C AND 0-14 against Launton. Looks like another team which has lost players over the summer, just like Reading Royals in the Prem. Even worse the fixture list on fg has them playing TWO games at the same time this Sunday one at home and one away- no wonder they're struggling!

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Im just shocked. We have lost a few over the Summer and its obviously vastly damaging the morale and the form of the Ladies. Going down would be catastrophic, but if these results continue to hit hard like they are doing i can't see us escaping it, i really can't.

from Fair Game

It's not just clubs in the top flight , like Blackburn who are making great progress witth he support of their professional men's set-up. Reading Football Club proudly boasts one of the most rapidly developing women's football set-ups in the country.

The clubs first team was formed in 2006 and promptly gained the league and cup double in their inaugural campaign , winning every single game to claim the Southern Region Premier League. The current season has been another spectacular success story with the Royals looking strong contenders for a second successive promotion , which could see the team competing in the National Premier League South next season. Reading have been able to attract a number of players from leading Premier League clubs and are now hoping to match the meteoric rise of their men's team into the elite of English football.

This rapid growth in the women's game has been made possible by a strong commitment throughout the club , starting at board level with the recruitment of a full-time centre of excellence director along with the addition of two full-time coaches who take teams in the center of excellent and a close partnership with the clubs thriving community trust allows continuous progression on and off the pitch.

One central figure is the Community Trust manager Lee Herron . who also fills the role of Director of Women's Football. Herron is delighted with the club's progress and said ," We are committed to encouraging female participation in football at all levels and we believe that the structure we now have in place stands up well in comparison to any other club in the country. At grass roots level we regularly run girls only soccer schools , and at elite level our progress is demonstrated by international recognition with England for four of our under 17's , Sahara osborne Ricketts , Kayleigh Hines and Melissa Fletcher and Amy Carr - as well as players in the England under 15's.

Our first team is flying high at top of South West Combination League , and it's notable that the majority of team consists of players who have graduated from our centre of excellent. WE also have an extremely young team with an average age of just 17 , which has to bode well for the future ".

To complement the structure already in place , the club has now embarked upon a newe venture with the local John Madejski Academy , which has benefitted from millions of pounds of investment to become a first class sporting facility.

Sadly, not the same club....there are THREE different clubs with Reading as their starter! The madjeski backed Reading women fc as described above who won nearly every league game... Reading Royals who lost all their best players and lost all 22 games last season...and Floody's Reading ladies who play much lower down and also lost all their games last season. Confusing!
