I think they would. All that was needed was a bit more pace.

VDS should have saved it anyway.

well lets agree to disagree, its all ifs and buts now anyways. for all you know Rio and Vidic might have had a nightmare and you could have lost. i know its unlikely but so was Liverpool and Porto winning the Champions League

For the clowns saying Ronaldo had such a terrible game have you ever considered for one second in your myopic view of football that he might have just been doing exactly what his manager asked of him?

Im not saying I know what SAF's instructions were to him but maybe he told him "Ronnie whenever you get the all just run at the barstards, they are terrified of you and will put three players on you all night, this will create space for the other players and draw their defenders out of position"

Just food for thought, but then again if you dont agree with Johaldo YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT FOOTBALL. AT ALL. NOTHING.

No I never thaught because at around the 50th min I seen Alex Ferguson screaming his head off at Ronaldo. Just face he played bad end off story there were 21 other players on the pitch the whole world dose not revolve the git.

TDV, to be honest, I think no matter what Ronaldo does - you would still find criticism for him.

Personally, I was estatic that Ronaldo signed a new contract with United. I am pretty sure that a majority of United fans felt the same way. Maybe he is overhyped, but to be honest, I really dont care! As long as he keeps improving, and keeps performing, I will be happy.

So by disagreeing with me, you admit that you know nothing about football then, yeah? Laughing

Listen son, show me where in this thread have I said that Ronaldo had a terrible game. I was simply replying to marcofoo's innaccurate observation that Ronaldo was better than Kaka on the night. Ronaldo did OK, nothing more. He had flashes of skill, but never really put it together. The amount of times when running at players that he could of passed it but chose to shoot...it goes back to what I was saying about decision making in matches. His isn't brilliant, but because he's brilliant at running at defenders you can forgive him. I don't buy into this "he was brilliant because he took players out of the game" idea. Ronaldo is rated so highly because of what he can do with the ball at his feet, not with the ball away from him. In that regard, he could have done better. In comparison to Kaka, the Brazilian had no help up front. The defence could more or less focus on his threat, yet he still had a great game.

I'd rate his performance as 6.5/10.
Kaka was 8.5/10.

I did notice about 3 times maybe more that ronaldo tried to poke the ball through the legs of the opposing team players but failed...maybe the awards went to his head slightly!

No I thaught he had a great game against Roma. But thats just one big game & really the only big 1 he has performed in all season. Thats a fact. Scoring goals against teams like Villa, Fulham, Boro etc... has been a huge help to us this season but taking these teams apart dose not make him the best player in the world when he starts taking apart solid teams & making world class defenders look stupid thats what will make him the best player in the world. And when Ive seen him play against the top teams this season I have seen no evidence that suggests he ever will take these teams apart.

What like the way Rooney turned Nesta and made him look silly with the second. But still no praise...oh well people will always hate players regarless of what they do.

You make it sound like Rooney nutmegged him, turned back and then flicked it over his head before scoring. Big exaggeration.

He simply ran out wide, took a quality early shot and flat footed Dida. But he certainly didn't fool Nesta, far from it. Nesta's positioning was fine for that goal, he was goal side with his body in front of Rooney. It was Dida's fault for not covering his near post. It was a great shot from Rooney though.

Even the first goal; Nesta got the ball but it luckily ricocheted in favour of Rooney, who tamely beat Dida. That goal was more about Scholes' pass.

Look Johaldo8 you'll never give Rooney credit for anything he does, if he was Brazilian it may be a different story but his English so he cant be all that, I bet you I your Kaka has taken early shot like that against Rio you would have been singing his praises.

You know what I’m really done with this most people won’t give Manchester United, Rooney or Ronaldo their fair dues and that is their prerogative. As far as I’m concerned we came back from a difficult situation, we kept Kaka quiet and marked him out of the game in the second half.

Rooney’s goals were both wonderful specially the second one, Ronaldo did really well considering that he 2-3 people marking him during the game.

That performance has put us in a great position and I hope we capitalise on it and go to the final.

I doubt that even if we did the treble some people wouldn’t even give the team, great individuals like Ronaldo and Rooney their dues.

Get off your high horse geezer. I've praised Rooney for his early shot, haven't I? I was just saying that he didn't make a fool out of Nesta, you're exaggerating. Ronaldo did OK.

Also, what do you mean you kept Kaka quite in the second half? He had two good chances to add to the 2 in the first half but missed them. What happened was that Gattuso's injury lost Milan control of the midfield, and hence they couldn't supply Kaka any more.

And stop spitting this bullsh!t that United don't get enough praise. I was bigging up United so much after the 7-1 Roma demolition. Check the thread for yourself.

Fans like you make me laugh. Just another Cockney Red with a big mouth.

Nesta stepped out and played Rooney offside actually. But that idiot Oddo was sauntering around at Right Back and played Rooney onside.
