Haha exactly. People cry for games to be decided in normal playing time, yet these boys want penalties, because it's somewhat fairer?

Fact is, both teams were awful - but Chelsea created a chance and scored whereas Man United couldn't.

Therefore deserved Champions.

I have never said penalities are a bad way of deciding a game after extra time. I just dont think Chelsea deserved to win it, but then again im not saying United did either. Both teams were awful, yet Chelsea scored pretty much their only effort. Fair play, and well done to them, just think both teams were equally as bad, so neither deserved it in extra time.

I agree with your point about Lawro, Benj. However i just wish he would be a bit more like he is co-commentating when he is in the Pundits chair on MOTD. Instead of just sitting on the fence all the time.

It doesn't matter where the momentum was from, he still went through Cech when he had the ball in his hands. Giggs should have put it away in the first place and there'd be no questions asked.

True, Giggs f*cked up. He has looked past it for a while now. Even though he is a legend I think his time has past and he should retire.

Regarding the decision, I still think we were robbed and no1 is going to convince me otherwise so don't even bother.

Hang on! I am blaming Giggs for no reason (although he should retire).... Essien fouled Giggs and United should have been awarded a penalty.

Not always but it is often the case on big occasions hence why there is such a big deal being made out of the need for video replays.

It happens to all teams, not just United. I'm sure u have felt this way in the past.

Yeah, yeah, bla, bla.

We won it, and we deserved it. You won the league, and you deserved it. End of discussion, the match is over.

Very Happy
From the FA:

Fouls and misconduct are penalised as follows:

Direct Free Kick

A direct free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following six offences in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force:

kicks or attempts to kick an opponent

trips or attempts to trip an opponent

jumps at an opponent

charges an opponent

strikes or attempts to strike an opponent

pushes an opponent

A direct free kick is also awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following four offences:

tackles an opponent to gain possession of the ball, making contact with the opponent before touching the ball

holds an opponent

spits at an opponent

handles the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own penalty area)

A direct free kick is taken from where the offence occurred.
The ball crossed the line and Giggs did not commit a foul.

C'mon marco! That wasn't a goal. Its clear Cech had it in his hands and Giggs pushed him over the line after that. Its a foul on Cech if anything.

1. Only because he was brought to the ground by Essien.

2. The ref neither blew the whistle or signalled for a foul. And there is nowhere in the rules that suggest he should have done.

3. The ball crossed the line.

Why should I post my arguments, when it's so obvious?! Giggs forced Cech into the goal, end of story. If you try to argue on something thats so obvious, you just show your true colors, matey, but go on, I don't care.

I'll ask you this TrueBlue, if the linesman or referee had seen the ball cross the line, would they have blown the whistle for a free kick or let the goal stand? I predict the latter, and Marco is right because if it was a foul the referee would have blown the whistle like they do everytime a keeper is challenged unfairly.
