I think he will be a great captain for Arsenal, but he really was the only choice they had so they lucked out there.

well everyone has different views but i dont think Wenger would have sold Vierra if he still thought he was "our rock in midfield" . His form was patchy last year which was probably because of the Real Madrid
link and that is why i do not think it is such a blow as others do.
We still have a few weeks left so who knows what Wenger is planning , but he will not let Chelsea run away with the title like last year , Chelsea were not expected to win the title last year so that is why there is added pressure and because of the money they have every team will be trying that little bit harder against them .
I agree it will be hard to beat them but not impossible as most people believe .

The thing is he played a massive part as in your unbeaten season, he was ur captain. He was a good capatain too. As for Henry as ur new captain ... hmm not so sure.

Gerrard's season was VERY patchy but I think Liverpool would miss him if he left earlier on this month.

You say Wenger wont let it happen, well I'm afraid he hasnt got a very big say in it all at all, the bank balance does though!

Chelsea were expected to win the league last season, they were also expected to win everything else so that little statement by u is utter [beep!] lad.

Anyone can beat whoever on their day, but I dont think Chelsea will let the title slip.

Lil Yiddo:

not at the start of the season , Chelsea were hoping to compete with Arsenal and Man Utd .Arsenal were champions and still unbeaten so were the team to beat, everyone wrote Chelsea off when Man City beat them 1-0 and Arsenal went 5 points clear , but then came that match at Old Trafford and from there Chelsea suddenly took over and everyone was talking about them winning everything. The odds will change throughout the season but at the beginning Arsenal were favourites for the title .

You say Wenger wont have a big say in the title race , money isnt everything but we shall see .

Viera will be a hard act to follow - But Wenger is not stupid!

They have talent and one player does not make the team!

I agree that he needs a world class cetral midfielder but they may have to miss out on the title this year because with Chelsea in the form they are and The Man United youngsters and experience blend at full pelt i feel that they will be the top two this season!
