^ USA 2-0 China, but sad news for Hope Solo

Quote:
The U.S. team got some tragic news today as they will be without the services of goalkeeper Hope Solo, whose father passed away last night. Solo, who has played 32 of the 40 matches under Ryan, returned home to Seattle. The U.S. team will wear black armbands during the match and there will be a moment of silence before the game.

USWNT have a new kit

I personally think the gold is awful; it's the red, white and blue bit that is just ugly
- it's gonna be strange seeing the US in gold, so used to seeing them in white/red
- this must be the worst kit they've ever had

Quote:
The new uniform, which the U.S. will wear in China at both the upcoming 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup and the 2008 Olympic Women's Soccer Tournament.

“The team loves the new gear, and we’re looking forward to debuting the gold jersey against Brazil on Saturday and throughout the Send-Off Series, with the end goal to be wearing these jerseys in the Women's World Cup final in China." said U.S. forward Abby Wambach.

The uniform features a solid gold torso, marking the first time the U.S. Women have worn a color other than red, white or blue as their primary color. The new kit has a gold-outlined U.S. Soccer crest over the left chest and a gold collar, and features white and blue trim on the right sleeve and red and blue trim on the left sleeve.

The second jersey is white with red and blue trim on the top of the sleeves. The gold jersey will be worn with blue shorts and socks with gold trim when it debuts Saturday. The white jersey will be worn with white or blue shorts with white socks that are trimmed in the other colors of the uniform.

So smithy when are you getting a 'beautiful' gold shirt?! Laughing

The white one isn't that bad though.
Have they always had a kit for themselves?

Glad to hear that smithy - the gold is not nice
I hear many USWNT fans like it due to the fact it's suposed to represent and inspire the USA dominance and them winning gold Rolling Eyes
Don't care the ideas or suggestions the shirt is just ugly
Sweden wore gold shirts didn't mind those so much but wasn't gonna rush out to buy one
teams just suit certain strips ie: Sweden in yellow/blue, US in red/white Laughing

Write up of the USA v Brazil Match

certainly is. I'm hoping that Tasha Kai's exclusion is just an oversight and she'll be in the final 21.

I think Tasha will go, if not for any other reason than to amuse the Chinese fans with her tattoo's and dancing Laughing
Who do you think the final three players will be?

I think: Kai, Hucles and Dalmy/Trotter.

I don't see why Kai has to prove herself to get into the final three.

I would say Kai , Hucles and I got a horrible feeling he may go for Cheney , I do hope I'm wrong.

Will TK get a new tattoo for the w/c Wink the girl is running out of room Laughing
