Remembering Arsenal Ladies v Breidablik games in the UEFA Cup,
I predict at least 3-0 for England Wink

I could be wrong though, it always seems difficult for England
to find themselves on the pitch without Julie, Jayne, Emma, Ciara etc Laughing Twisted Evil

Over 6,000 tickets 'sold' as of last Friday, so should be a good crowd at Roots Hall.

It will be my first ever Ladies match and looking forward to it.

Hope you enjoy it L S Wink

I've not been inside Roots Hall, but have seen the ground.

I assume you're from Leigh-on-Sea? Very Happy

Yep Leigh-on-Sea Razz
You havn't missed much by not coming to Roots Hall, it was much better when it was mainly all standing. We have a new 22,000 seat ground planned but that is still probably 3 years away yet.

Mind you this US reporter (also an Arsenal fan) enjoyed his visit and now supports Southend as well as Arsenal!

Thanks LS - that was a nice report from the American too.

I think he must have got his tix from a West Ham fan though - Arsenal are ticketless these days, you just need your membership card as long as you've pre-paid, and as far as I know, only away fans need tickets, unless there is a game where they go on general sale of course - and the West Ham game wasn't one of them Very Happy

And - btw, I lost a little bit of cash at the bookie near Roots Hall Laughing

Yep, he was lucky to get tickets for Emirates so easily especially for a derby match against West Ham. Actually he was lucky to get tickets for Southend v Colchester as we sold out our home tickets quite a few weeks before that match.

I went to the Brazil v Portugal game at Emirates earlier this season & have just booked tickets for England v Brazil at Wembley. Tickets for England men £40 each, England ladies £1 each will let you know what was better value after the matches!

As for losing at the bookies, you should have been betting on Southend to lose every week, you would win some money that way Very Happy

Knowing my luck, I'd have sunk my life savings (all £6.23 of it) on Man U to hammer Southend Laughing

Enjoyed the game, altough Iceland were very poor and hardly touched the ball in the 2nd half. Best goal of the night was the 4th goal by Katie Chapman superb volley.

Good crowd as well and most people waited in the ground to watch the penalty shoot out, although some of England's pens were not very good I hope they don't have a pen shoot out in the World Cup Smile

Stunning goal by Chapman Cool Mr. Green

Kelly always goes for the same place when executing a penalty and most keepers have latched on to it! Most of the time they dive the right way but don't quite get there as she hits it with power, I think she needs to experiment more Wink
