Northern Ireland under-21 midfielder David Howland has signed a new one-year contract at Premiership new-boys Birmingham City – although it remains possible that he will be allowed to join eircom League of Ireland side Bohemians on loan.
The 20-year-old from Ballynahinch has been repeatedly linked with a loan switch to the Dublin side.
Bohs manager Sean Connor is a friend and former colleague of Birmingham boss Steve Bruce, and the pair are believed to have discussed a possible move for Howland earlier this year.
