He did look good going forward again today, with a few tricks and a bit of dribbling. And we all know this is how you please an Arsenal fan so he will be a very popular man at Highbury.

Yes B J, we are always pleased by a few tricks and a bit of dribbling etc., it's nice to get the points, but isn't it nice if you score a goal that will always be remembered

There is room for him of you cut Pires, that is really Wengers only option if he wants to do it tho.

Well , as some of you know, i am a (shhhhhhh!! ) hammers supporter, ... your team has the best chance in London of taking Chelski apart this season , The Spurs are like a wet paperbag in defence, albeit, they met a weaker team ( Andrex meets Supermarket supersave deal ) today, but time will tell, Heaven knows how we have 4 points, but i will settle for that ! . In the back of my mind, i am worried that we can become another Chelski because of the takeover speculation, maybe not on such a vast scale financially, but strong enough to create an impact in the top half. Unfortunately, i go back far enough to remember that when i was 14 years of age, Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters won the world cup wiv a few other supporting players

You've had a good start Ringo, neither of other newly-promoted teams having a point yet, Hammers in fourth place, and at worst you'll be sixth tomorrow. Ok, it's a long way to go.
A few weeks ago I saw a letter on teletext or somewhere, when a Chelski fan was saying that everyone says they are big spenders, but they have actually spent very little in the close season. They've now spent around £55m just "strengthening" the squad For a team who have never won the top flight, it's amazing to think, as you rightly point out, that West Ham had three of England's WC winners in their side, moneybags of the time Man U two, and no other team provided more than one. It's always a shame that money is so important, and I think it has been made so much more evident when you consider that Arsenal, champs a year ago and runners-up last time have actually received more for the players that have gone (mainly from Vieira's sale) than they've spent (all on Hleb, as Song is currently only on loan). Okay, this would have different if Baptista had signed, but, by my calculations we'd only have had a net spend of £10m or so - a lot of money - but nowhere near as much as the Chels. In fact, I saw a breakdown of Wenger's transfers a year or so ago, and he'd a net outgoing of less than £100m in his whole time at the club. Not bad for a team never out of the top two in his full seasons (and only third on goal diff in his first part season.) I'd like to see the Hammers do well, (but not better than Arsenal of course |

Mr.Twmcat, as i have stated before , in a previous posting in another subject listing, i have a great deal of respect for your views and your attitude. Even as ' Rival ' supporters, i dont recall being worried to go to a football match with my ' Clacker Rattle ' and worrying about supporter violence after the match, what i remember is the banter in song, and i dont mean against other coloured players, although there were very few anyway, what i do remember is both team supporters used to meet in the pub afterwoods, us kids would only be allowed in the car park with a lemonade and a packet of crisps, and the strange thing was, we loved away matches to see other pub playgrounds and the other kids becoming friends. Today, kids are brought into a pub newly born, into a smokey atmosphere, the other child , generally 3 or 4 years of age, picking up a pool cue, raking it across the pool table and the parents not giving a toss ! Now dont get me wrong, that is the world it is today because nobody has the guts to say to the little brat ' Oi, put that down , you little Git , before you get a clip round the ear ' , that .... unfortunately, is where we have gone wrong, we had respect for our elders, and they had the right to talk to us like that, and we knew that if we went back to our parents and told them that had happened, we woulda got a clout from dad !

i think this topic has run its course as to why wenger signed Hlebb .
So this topic is now locked . |
Agree with your point mate but we have decided not to lock topics for internal reasons - it has run its course yes and Hleb will prove his worth!
Lets get on and talk about why nobody else signed him elsewhere! |
ok no problem general , thanks for the info .

He looked class and had great ability - he figure more now due to the Freddy injury!

Yes he will, it was good to see him start against Chelsea, i think it was a thinly disguised 4-5-1 formation from Wenger tho.

Okay, who else could have done with Hleb in their team
He seems to be ok for Afc, but I'm not sure who else he could fit in with |
