Spot on?? So why were all you Liverpool fans crying about Man Utd winning at Anfield a couple of months back?? I could say the same thing about that game: If Liverpool weren't capable of taking their chances and failed to defeat a team with only ten men, then you don't deserve the win. Yet you argued that you did. The difference is that at least Man Utd won the tie 1-0. You didn't - it was 1-1 on aggregate. The bottom line is that Liverpool triumphed on penalties. But did they deserve to be in the final? Like I said already, the second game was tighter than the first. There's the answer. PS - Liverpool fans arguing that Milan shouldn't be there because of match fixing in Italy is cheeky. It carries no more weight than saying that because this is the Champions League, Liverpool shouldn't be in there. We all knew who were admitted into the competition from the start, no one complained. End of. European cheater's league |

Im pretty sure you did say something along those lines at the time. But in the United game we were also the better team, trying to score and creating chances, United didnt, like Chelsea at Anfield. The only difference is that United scored a lucky goal. We should have won both games, but we ended up only winning one, the more improtant one P.S - people slagging off Liverpool and more specificly Gerrard for diving are being cheeky. It carries no weight as every team has players that dive. |

The second game wasn't much tighter than the first. Remember that quote, Ben? What do you mean it carries no weight? Gerrard is a diver, you can't defend that accusation. Hey, if it makes you feel better, Didier Zokora is a diver. He earned us a penalty against Portsmouth by diving. Berbatov is a diver. See? Didn't hurt me admitting the truth did it? Why can't you about Gerrard? Talking of Gerrard diving, he did it twice in the final. Once in the first half in the corner where he won a free kick; the second when Nesta did a brilliant last ditch challenge to deflect the ball away for a corner. Not only did SG exaggerate his fall but as he got up, he looked at the referee instead of turning around around and preparing for the corner. Nesta got up and gave him a high five for the little battle, but really he should have given him a kick up the ar$e. |

I nearly forgot Ben: what was lucky about O'Shea's goal at Anfield?

Well it doesnt carry any weight whether we deserve to be in the final at all does it? Billy said we were cheats so shouldnt be there, so i responded with Milan being cheats as well to make the point it was irrelavent what he was saying. And it does make me feel better that you can admit that your players do it. I only defend Stevie cos Bluenose defends Andy Johnson. I just get frustrated with what he says so i try to say something along the same lines back, i no its petty, but it diverts the attention for a bit. Gerrard DOES dive, i can and have admitted that, but he is not the biggest diver in the world, nor in the league, nor in the England team which some make him out to be. OK, let me re-phrase, they scored a soft goal, down to our own mistakes. It was a fortunate goal as that parry mistake by Reina could have gone any where but dropped right infront of a United player to score. You could put that down to good positioning but i see it as fortunate. Cant really say they deserved the win though. They hardly attacked or threatened whilst we did, just, as i always state, have no one up front to put the ball in the net and convert our many chances we nearly always create. Also at the top there Jo, i was refering to the UNited game not Chelsea one |

Fair enough with the diving thing then. Johnson is also a cheat I know you was referring to the United game, but you said "in the United game we were also the better team" - also meaning a reference to the Chelsea game O'Shea's goal was soft, but O'Shea wasn't fortunate to be there, in my opinion. The ball falling there was, but O'Shea is being clever by being there. I have noticed several O'Shea goals this season coming from keepers spilling the ball in the box. The Liverpool game obviously, the Portsmouth game and the Everton game. On all three occasions he's pounced on a fumble. That's great positioning in my view. |

true, very good positioning. But he must take up those positions for every set piece, and over the course of the season he has got 3 goals from this situation. Thus this type of thing does not occur often, cos the keeper should do better. On those 3 occasions he was fortunate for it to happen in my opinion cos the keepers in question should do better. Fair play to him for being there and converting the chance, he does it well obviously, but was fortunate for getting the chance to do it.
