Celtic 4 - Artmedia Bratislava 0 |
|
Celtic came within a goal of forcing the game into extra time as they beat Atmedia Bratislava 4-0 last night but went out 5-4 on aggregate in the Champions League qualifier .
Despite goals from Alan Thompson , John Hartson , Stephen Mcmanus and Craig Beattie, Celtic could not quite complete what would have been a stunning comback after being hammered 5-0 in the first leg. After the match Gordon Strachan said there was a feeling of pride , sadness and injustice at the outcome and said that the two results combined probably the worst they will ever play and the best they will ever play. Ultimately though Celtic will not be in Europe this season. |

I suppose they had done well to get 4 goals, but obviously not good enough to get the 5th.
This will be a big strain on the club finanically. |
