Excellent result 5-1 away is brilliant.
It's a shame Lianne cannot do as well for England as she does for her club side.

I have got hold of a dvd of the 2nd half of the game and it was really not what I expected.
Direct football from the defenders, long balls. This was extremely successfull because most of the goals scored were on the break but for the first one that was missile from Westwood. Credit to HopePowell from putting her in for Sanderson.
I honestly don't understand why Westwood is employed as a number 10 when you have Fara Williams in the side. Shocked
A solid defensive midfield or a technical and skillfull player to lead the attack ? Well a defensive player will do lol and it's not the first time it happened actually.

The fact that fitness did play an important role in is a reward for all the hours the girls spend in the gym and on the pitches as part of their preparation. When you read the time, dedication and effort they spend to do the England training, it is only fair that they are gonna get paid for that when the Superleague comes in 2010, especially as they have their day job as well..

Hopefully England will play another type of football because although this is looks to be succesfull against smaller team, my guess is it won't cut it against top class side like USA, Brazil or Germany.

I would have that first 11 :

Telford
A.Scott Johnson Asante Unitt
Chapman
Williams/ J. Scott K. Smith
Carney Sanderson Yankey/Davison

Williams to play against defensive side and Scott against attacking ones
Yankey to play in big games and Davison in smaller ones
Whelan back up for Johnson
Basset back up for Asante
Houghton back up for A. Scott and Unitt
Sue Smith 4th winger in the squad
Buet back up for all central midfielders
Dowie back up for Sanderson
Aluko option if team needs to play fast counter attack in last 10 minutes of game.
