Preston boss Paul Simpson has ordered David Nugent to return to training on Monday.
Nugent's future is up in the air with the player yet to agree a move away from Deepdale after holding talks with Sunderland and Portsmouth. Sunderland have since withdrawn their interest in Nugent leaving the path clear for Portsmouth to sign the England cap. However, reports suggest Nugent is stalling over a move to Fratton Park as he holds out for a switch to boyhood heroes Everton. Simpson is unsure what is happening regarding Nugent's future and he has called on the player to return to Deepdale having not been at the club since the end of last season. "I would like David to report back here on Monday and we will take if from there," Simpson told the Lancashire Evening Post "I actually think we will be seeing the lad on Monday, although I am really guessing because I honestly don't know what David is thinking. `Nuge' has got a decision to make as to whether or not Portsmouth is the right club for him. "If he decides it is not the right club then we are looking forward to seeing him again on Monday. "I have spoken to his agent and told him I want him back in. "He didn't tell me which way things were going so I'm still waiting to hear like everyone else." report from skysports |

You need to get rid of him soon as, so you that you can use the money to bring in some new players.
Must be frustrating. |

It is very frustrating he called his bluff while away on u21 duty when he said he wouldnt wait around for Everton to make a bid and now that they havent i think his arse is twiching a bit.
Roy Keane lost patience with him and Harry Redknapp is going to end up doing the same . if Nugent is realistic about being in the England squad he has to move to the premiership now or end up being a 1 cap wonder |

Nugent has stalled way to long now waiting for Everton to make there move. I dont think Everton will make there move as I dont beleive they want to pay that much money on a unproven Premiership scorer.
Nugent is messing PNE and Pompey around big time and if he does stay, he may unsettle things a bit at Deepdale. I think this is the best chance you lot have of getting rid. So I beleive PNE should just tell him to move to Pompey. |

Well he has not gone back to Preston for training today he is still on the south coast having further talks with Pompey.
I think this whole saga will come to an end today or i hope so anyway £6 million plus would come in very handy. |
