I manage March Town Ladies, we've applied to enter the Ladies FA Cup. We've had moderate success locally, and are now being supported by the main towns team. It means that we play in the Town's stadium, have much improved facilities and do not have to pay any fees at present. We decided to try and enter the Ladies FA Cup purely for the experience.
Not sure if the entry has formally been accepted but the list of entries is on the link below. Link Facility wise we are good enough, but our potential problem is that we do not formally sit in the pyramid. Geographically, none of the County leagues are currently effective geographically so we play in a league with 9 or 10 other teams. So whilst the likes of Arsenal don't have to worry about the cup until next year, hopefully the fun begins for some of us earlier... |

Thanks Shlj. Have just been told that our entry has been accepted. Think we need to win 8 or so games before games before we can play Arsenal

Well done on being accepted - you'd better not knock Arsenal out though

I've heard Arsenal are worried. As winners of the Fenland Ladies Cup we did challenge them to a community shield game, but they bottled it...

... and the draw that matters is in. Weve been drawn to play Away against Cambridge United.
Cambridge have a centre of excellence, we tend to provide players for their centre of excellence! We're looking forward to it. Agent Smith, i'll introduce the team. |

And John Terry is on £135,000 pw now
That is the winning amount for Women's FA winners for 27 years. And he'll get it even if he's injured and doesn't play any week |

Yeah I saw that on SSNews nearly fell off the sofa...
It's really, really stupid money. Kind of cringe worthy actually. |

Makes me want to puke.
And Charlton were saying they got no extra for the large FA Final attendance last time - so they got £1,000. John Terry will get £1,000 in about every 1 hr 15 mins. |

I don't know if outrageous is a strong enough word, infact I don't think any word can explain what getting '£1,000 in about very 1 hr 15 mins' for playing a game is.
It's just sticking two fingers up at the women's side of the game, at least that's what it feels like! |

It makes me sick too - that's partly why I'm going to watch Women's football more than to men's.

Well, I enjoy watching the football, the players are pleasant and approachable, and I can afford it.
I don't even know if a ticket is available for the first men's Prem game v Fulham. The cheapest train tic now is £63 - and will rise in price if I don't get it now - but, maybe there won't be any tix for the game - they are only available to Silver members atm. I know I'll be able to watch women's footie anywhere (generally) atm - and enjoy it, and get autographs after the game even |
