It will be an English club this year, i think it will be Arsenal.

Ah that old Arsenal arrogance again. Always pops up around the time you start to win a few games.

I'm not too fussed who wins it, as long as Liverpool avoid playing AC Milan at any stage and also Milan don't win it (they're getting boring now).

Real Madrid have an interesting team, but i hope at all costs they DON'T win it after Schuster's comments. I hope they get pummelled 6-0 by Barca. I could see them winning it though, just to p1ss me off (well, not to personally go out and [beep!] me off, but you know..).

I could see United making the final, whether they win it or not i'm not sure. I'd love an all British final - United / Liverpool last year would have been amazing. Tense as hell.

I hope more than anything Chelsea don't win the competition - they can't buy their name alongside the elite of Europe as Champions can they? I'd even rather United won it than them..

Strangely though, i find myself almost wanting Arsenal to win it. I feel their recent success and the team they created (/the team they're creating) deserves some sort of recognition, as they do make some of the best performing teams under Wenger. Meh. I'm sure it'll pass..

That Liverpool are an ugly team - apparently because we didn't out play Barcelona.. The guys a moron.

I can't seem to find the main article. Basically he was saying how, judging on one match (which would be slightly worrying to Madrid fans, if he judges people/teams on one match), we were ugly and what not because when we played Barcelona we were solid. What team would go out to out play Barcelona? We don't claim to have better players, so why pretend to?

And it was generally an unprovoked attack. The only thing i can think is that he was having a dig at Rafa 'cause he knew Madrid wanted him at the same time that he got the job.

Anyway, i wouldn't mind if he had a trophyless season this year..

What's your problem with his comments? He said Liverpool are the only team that can stop Madrid winning the CL. That's a complement.

I didn't hear those comments, so I can't give my opinion. But, I can tell you this, most of the Madrid fans' fav premiership team is Liverpool without a doubt.
It's not fair that you don't like a whole team just because you don't like the coach/president or whatever.

I actually said that we'd win it in August, on the first page of this thread. I just genuinely have a strange feeling about it.

Providing we can keep our CBs and STs fit, there's no reason why we can't go all the way this time.

And Barcelona are very strong again, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the final. And I'd be desperate to see the look on Henry's face (no disrespect to the man) if we got there and beat them in the final.

Not really, his whole interview was an attack on Liverpool/Benitez and he threw that in at the end, basically saying his side could struggle as we are an ugly side. I wouldn't call it a compliment.

I'm sorry, but i have loyalty to Liverpool and Benitez - for what was a poorly judged attack, and one unprovoked, i have to say i wouldn't like to see Schuster achieve success at any club he manages. Nothing to do with Madrid, just him really.

He did go on to say his ideal would be Manchester United's attack and Chelsea's defence, which made me think he was particularly having a go at us. He insults us for being ugly and negative and then compliments Chelsea? What?! Do they defend in a particularly attractive way or something?

Like i say, from those comments the guys a moron..

Traditionally, because we never liked Manchester United or Arsenal. But you have to add there are some spanish players (and cocach) in Liverpool nowadays, and some special players for us like Morientes have played there.
Besides, Liv'pool have outclassed Barça several times...

He's is probably just jealous of Benitez, because he knows he was Real's second choice - Benitez was Real's first choice.

It's natural for him to hit out at Benitez, to try and make it look like Real made the right choice.

Benitez sh*ts on Schuster though. You can't even compare the two. Benitez is a different class.

Oh and thanks Raul. I didn't know that.

I feel the Arse have as good a chance as anybody, particularly if they continue producing their domestic form on the European stage.

However having read some of the bilge you are spewing out I hope you tempt fate again (much the same as you did a couple of seasons back when many Gooners arrogance got the better of them on route to the Final)

It'll be a test for Wenger. Arsenal have practically had just one good season in the Champions League that i can remember - and i really see that as a bit of a fluke, going off there past achievements. Just look at last season, they went out to PSV, who Liverpool then dispatched easily 4-0 on aggregate and had beaten in the group stages too. A team they shouldn't have lost to. It'll be hard for Wenger, and i'm not confident they'll do much. If he has one flaw it's his record in Europe.

Who Will Win CL 07-08?
