Well justified tribute!! Pity those defenders that had to contend with him all those time. Hope Beattie can step up and hopefully fill his shoe as our next cherished centre forward.....

Duncan was truly amazing. It was in a way a bit upsetting that at times he had to play in a team that just wasn't really good enough for him. When him and Kanchelskis got together for a period in the 1996 season I really thought we had cracked it and the glory days would be returning. However, Everton never really produced a team worthy of Duncan until now when he is too old and his style of play is not really suited to Moyes' tactics.
I remember waiting outside Bellefield when the team were coming back from Wembley with the Cup. Duncan got off the coach and he had a massive pair of shades on. I have a feeling he may have been drinking. Was a bit gutted because he just staggered right through us. Lol. However, did get to shake Gary Ablett's hand, which was an honour. Ablett went back to coach at Liverpool, didn't he? He was in Everton's youth set up for a bit. mmm, I wonder who he honestly prefers??? I hope its us because I thought he was great.

Dunc is a legend .......... and a real nice guy .

1)The kids in Burscough used to knock on his door , and he'd go out and have a kick about with them .
2)Whenever there was a charity do , Dunc would always be the first to arrive and the last to leave . He'd be literally walking round with kids hanging off him .
3)Early in his Everton career , he scored in a 3-0 win over Leeds . My wife ( then girlfriend ) jumped up screaming "Dunc , I love you and want to have your babies " .
This got back to him and pinned on our kitchen wall is a note saying " To ****** , You can have my baby !!! Lots of love , Big Duncan Ferguson xxxx . "
Laughing Laughing
4) Back in the mid 90's a group of Everton and RS players were out drinking in town . Collymore , who was not well liked by any of the players on either team , was giving stick to Stuart Barlow , about his lack of ability . Dunc told Collymore to leave him alone because he was a good kid . Collymore wouldn't so Dunc levelled him with one punch . All the RS players just shrugged and carried on drinking . Very Happy
5) One of the youth team players told me how he'd been next to Dunc at training , back in the days when they all went to Bellefield . Dunc had said he'd lost £4000 the night before . He knew he was going to go on the lash so gave it to someone for safe keeping . Trouble was , he got so drunk , he couldn't remember who he gave it to . Laughing

Ah, Crabhead, I think I have just sussed you out. You are truly horrible aren't you? Dunc was a great player and other than Cottee, he was the first really top centre forward I can remember playing for Everton. Now, leave him alone and get lost.

I'll give him this though, He's VERY interested in Everton as he is ALWAYS in the Everton section of the forum replying to every post. Mind you, He likes to mix with his own kind, and wont find many scousers in the red section or at analfield. Wink

Laughing Well done chaps, some quite funny remarks there. I almost feel sympathy...no wait, I'll just continue to laugh at you all & the rather foolish remarks.

As for you Gaius Demetrius. Im horrible? Im sorry, do you know me? Do you actually know me in real life? know what type of person I am? How I conduct myself, how I live life? I think you'll find the answer is NO so dont try and say what kind of person I am while you sit behind your little monitor trying to be all tough.

Now where was I? Oh right, laughing at the silly remarks. If you dont mind I'll continue to do so while I wait for the predictable "Oooh look, we've touched a nerve" lines to flood in Laughing

OK, who's first? Laughing

Lol, Crabhead. I was saying it in a joky way. This is a blooming chat about Duncan Ferguson and I am hardly going to say something like that in a truly meaningful way. I'm sorry you seem to have got irate over it.
