gd idea imo jenas was 1 of the poorist players on the pitch and we need sum 1 obviously not as gd as hi but built in the similar way and same playing style as gerrard, to dominate the midfield and make gd attacking strong midfield runs, its not just this game which has brought this to my attention lots of games ive come to the same conclusion,

players that played well:

Kaboul Chimbonda Robbo ( did what he had to poor defending for there goal ) Zokora impressed

Players that played poor

Malbranque (refued to run with the ball or to run and close ppl down, provided no threat what so ever) Keane and Berbatov ( got the ball and dwelt on it for to long werent decisive enough) Tainio was suppost to b a winger kind of but barely made attacking runs.

I gope we see taarabt playing soon.

Yes I was delighted with Kaboul considering it was his debut and first introduction to the Premiership.
I was pleased with our first half performance - despite not creating any clear cut chances, I thought we passed the ball well one touch, and the "emergency" defense fared well and we forced Sunderland into mistakes and slack passes.

Malbranque & Jenas let the side down for me, but I hate to say it I'm not surprised.

However I was surprised Berbatov was removed for Defoe - he didn't have a good game, but his reaction said it all. Jol tried to hug him on his departure, and the gesture did not seem to be reciprocated. Whilst not bowing down to him, we need to keep Berba happy if he is to stay and be part of our building process. The swap did not justify him being substituted in my opinion, and I would have kept him on in case a split-second of his magic broke down the opposition.

Nah, we cant just treat Berba like gold just because of his new reputation. If he's gonna sulk about getting subbed when he's playing sh1t then he can f*ck off! Plain and simple. Everyone has bad games and he deserved to be subbed. If he cant handle that because he reckons he's a king, then he should go looking for a new club. Everyone disappointed me today, Kaboul looked promising but it was clear in the last 15 minutes that he ran out of steam.

I dont understand Jol. If were trying to flog Gardener then why still put him in front of Rocha in the pecking order? He cost us the game with his pathetic attempts to header a ball. A clear right-back in Stalteri at left-back? Whats his problem?

Come on Jol. Wake up and learn!

Whilst I agree he should not get preferential treatment as such, substituting the one player with half an ounce of inventiveness, for Defoe, was not right thing to do in my opinion - so I can understand Berbatov's frustration. We already know pairing Keane & Defoe does not work.
