Powerful forward with lots of pace too. We are short of numbers upfront. If we can get Yak then we will really be a force to reckon with!

Hope we get him! In moyes we trust....

See, I am only worried that if we were to sign a new striker then it would mean having to put Vic back on the bench. Vic has been brilliant and he deserves to be in the starting line up based on his performances so far. Everyone is so keen to go and blow a few million pounds when in the club already have a talented, strong, pacy centre forward who deserves his chance at a run in the first team.

We need a strong squad , not just a starting XI .

AJ , Vic , James and Yak .......... 2 in form and injury free get the start . Remember for the first 4 months of the 84/85 season we had Sharpy , Gray and Inchy battling for 2 shirts , and it certainly inspired them .

Fairdos nickcat0 but one thing I cannot stand is seeing young players held back and put on the bench instead of being an opportunity to learn their craft. I always ask the simple question, if they are too inexperienced how the hell are they supposed to get experience?? Just hope, Yakubu is good enough to improve our squad.

It's a fair question , but I think Moyes would like to pick and choose when to give Vic and James experience , rather than having to rely on them every week .

Young kids form tends to fluctuate , and it's better if you can put them in for a couple of games , rest them for a couple , back in for a couple etc.

We have a tradition of blooding youngsters , so I don't think they'll be held back . Ray Hall's mandate at the Academy is to produce 1 regular firstteamer each season , so the committment is there from the club to develop young talent .

It's whats great about not being bought out by a yank. Whatever we win is not bought but produced by our selves.

I will remind you yes, I'll remind you that the topic is "yakubu coming to goodison" and not anything to do with what we have won in the past and when... If you're so intrested in Everton and when we last won something try a new thread or click here ---> http://www.Evertonfc.com/home/ or just google it son....

Thank you.

Ps... Did you know there is a Liverpool section on the forum? PM for details as I would hate you to try and ruin another Everton thread.

Topic anyone?

Oh dear, touched a nerve it seems Rolling Eyes

Sheesh..I was only asking a question in relation to YOUR post so in reality, its ON topic but as usual when you think the answer will belittle your club you quote the "off topic" line Rolling Eyes

I withdraw my question, afterall, a forum is no place for questions is it now? Rolling Eyes

We should have got Martins :/ At the beginning of the season when Martins was unsure weither he would play, would have been the perfect time to get him tbh. But i get the feeling its too late after his great start to the season...

Yak is a proven player in the premiership. Only Thierry Hery has scored more goals in the last four seasons. Thus I don't see his signing as a gamble but a very important addition that will surely make us stronger. With his pace and power, he will be a handful for any team. Together with AJ, they will become an awful combination!

Well done Moyes!

Europe here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
