Stoke have completed the signing of highly rated 18 year old Belgian defender Richie de Laet from Royal Antwerp.

He has signed a three year contract and has cost an initial £100k which could rise further.

He was apparently highly recommended to the club by Ryan Shawcross, who is on loan from Man Utd and spent part of last season on loan at Antwerp.

This is Tony Pulis' first signing from abroad in over four seasons at the club, he has publicly stated that he doesnt like signing players which havent already played in England, so de Laet must really have something about him for us to go through with this deal.

I am quite excited about this signing, definitely one for the future, and perhaps even one for now?
