What's wrong with Deco?

Last season he wasn't great, but he is a fantastic player.

The problem with Deco is his attitude.

I hear Barca are taking tomorrow's friendly against Inter very seriously after the Racing game, hoping to show their fans that everything's OK and they shouldn't worry.

Figo will be there but probably won't play. He'll still get booed though.

Pathetic, isn't it?

Barca fans should be ashamed of what they to him when he went to Madrid.

Madrid fans would do the exact same thing if it had been the other way around.

And i suppose Real fans respected Luis Enrique every time he visited the Bernabeu as a blaugrana.

What, throw a pigs head at a player? Rolling Eyes

And marios, i know Enrique didn't get the best treatment when he returned, but we didn't throw a pigs head at him. Nothing can excuse that, so please don't try to.

To throw things isn't good, it shouldn't happen. But whistle the player yes.

Oh come on! What's wrong with a few props here and there? It adds to the theatricality of the sport. Just think about The Godfather: one of the most memorable scenes involves a horse's head. A pig's head is also symbolical. It works on so many levels!

As for the whiskey bottle they threw at Figo, they only threw it NEAR him so he could pick it up and have a sip. They were being hospitable, that's all.

Laughing

(PS: regarding the bottle, when some fans of another team threw a bottle of water at Panathinaikos' goalkeeper Mario Galinovic, he picked it up, emptied some of the water into his mouth, gargled, spit it out, made sure they say how refreshed he felt and threw the bottle behind his goal, like nothing had happened. Laughing )

He wouldn't care. hehe

Barca thrashed Inter 5-0 tonight, ina friendly at home. Dos Santos and Toure were our best players, according to reports.

Eto'o was injured after only 6 minutes. I hope it's not serious.

Blimey, over the last couple of months Inter have been sh*t.

Did Inter field a load of muppits though?

Anyway, i don't see Eto's absence as a great loss to Barca now. It would be the same with Henry.

When one of those two gets injured, they have just revert back to their traditional 4-5-1/4-3-3 that has won them two league titles and the Champions League.

I can't be bothered to verify this, but i did read earlier today that they weren't going to use their best players.

Henry would get to play more if Eto'o was injured and the system wouldn't be affected, but it's always better to have cover in that position. Last season we didn't really have that and it cost us.

Well, that was because you only had 1 world class striker last season. Now you two. Gudjohnson is more than capable of doing a good job when he comes off the bench.

Last season i embarrassed myself by saying that Gudjohnsen would be good cover in Eto'o's absence. My friends have been teasing me about that for months, cause let's face it, the guy didn't exactly set La Liga on fire.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was the player Ferguson is targeting for the replacement striker position, cause Barca tried to offload him earlier this summer and we are in need of someone who can cut it in the Prem.

But he's decent as 3rd choice.

And he did bag a few big goals last season.

He also missed a few big goals.

He scored 3 goals in 8 CL matches (4 starts / 4 subs), which isn't bad, but he only scored 5 goals in 25 La Liga appearances (14 starts / 11 subs), which is.

5 in 25. As i said, he didn't set La Liga on fire.

You are right.

It is bad, but then compare it to Marlon Harewood, who O'Neill rates highly, and it doesn't look so bad.

How many goals did he get last season? 2?

I watched the game and yes Toure and Dos Santos were the best. Inter didn't play with their best players, played with Chivu, Toldo, Adriano, Cambiasso, Solari, Burdiso, Recoba,.... I read that all the players that played in the first Calcio game didn't play yesterday.

And Eto'o heard that isn't worring.
