Stoke City have accepted a £2.5m bid (rising to £3m) from Sunderland for captain Danny Higginbotham after the player handed in a transfer request because "he no longer feels he can be committed to the club"
This is following Saturday's game with Southampton where Higginbotham claimed he was injured and refused to play because Stoke rejected two bids from Sunderland.
12 months ago we rescued Danny from Southampton reserves, he also wanted to move back to the Midlands so he is near his family in Derby (doesn't he know where Sunderland is??) He was made captain halfway through the season and was voted fans player of the year.
And this is how he repays us??? The guy is supposed to be captain, great example of the model professional he is setting.
The greedy money grabbing jug eared [beep!] who shirks his responsibility as captain in the name of personal greed.
We are better off without the likes of him. Good Riddance!!!!
