Stoke have snapped up young Jamaican International left winger Demar Phillips from Jamaican side Waterhouses.

He has signed a three year contract for what the club describe as a 'significant but undisclosed' fee.

The 23 year old has 27 caps for Jamaica, and is said to have plenty of pace and skill.

Don't really know much about him, but he sounds quite promising.

Stoke have also completed the season long loan signing of Gabriel Zakuani from Fulham.

The 21 year old defender played 9 games during a loan spell at Stoke towards the end of last season.

Good signing I think, he can play anywhere across the back and adds some pace to the defense, I think that he will be playing at right back, which is mainly where he was used when we had him last season.

It was reported in the local paper today that yesterday Stoke tried - and failed to sign Aston Villa's Gary Cahill, West Ham's Calum Davenport, Middlesbrough's Jason Euell, Charlton's Amdy Faye and old boy loanee Paul Gallagher.

We also had a £1.5m bid for Celtic defender John Kennedy rejected.

Now they would have certainly strengthened the squad!!
