The remodelling of Camp Nou

The english architect Norman Foster will be who will remodel Camp Nou. All that I have read till now is:

- all the seats will be covered and will have a retractable roof.
- will have 10,000 seats more.
- the external part will have light panels with the colours blue and red and red and yellow (for the catalonia's flag).
- and the interior will be remodeled too.

tomorrow before the game Barça - Sevilla will show a video to know how will be. The building works should start in 2008-2009 and should finish in 2011-2012.

Sure that in 2 or 3 days there will be videos about it.

Sounds great! Something like a bigger Allianz Arena then.

Theyre making it even bigger?! It already holds over 100,000 doesnt it

Is there really any need for a roof in Barcelona though?

The capacity nowadays is 98,000. And yes I agree that a roof isn't necessary, IMO with only all the seats covered had been enough for when it rains. A roof is good for a place where rains heavy or snows, and it doesn't happen very often in Barcelona.

It's pointless. They don't need to add a roof, and they don't need to make the biggest stadium in Europe any bigger - they're probably just trying to get one over Real Madrid, so they can go around saying they have a better stadium than us.

I found this image a while ago, and i was wondering if anyone knows anything about it?

It would be great if we improved the Bernabeu, and made it look like that. I honestly can't think of any stadium i like the look of more than that one in the picture. Shame we haven't made the improvements.

Florentino Perez wanted to do it but he resigned perhaps for this reason it wasn't a reality.

And I think that Camp Nou needs this remodelling, I'm in a seat that isn't covered and when it rains is a problem. Still that wasn't necessary to cover all the stadium, only all the seats.

Sticky, that stadium isn't a project anymore, since Florentino left Real Madrid that posssibility flopped. However Calderon wanted to change it a bit, adding 5000 seats (that's the last thing I read on the newspapers).

About the Camp Nou, well, I just hope there's an earthquake in that area and it gets destroyed Very Happy (With no human victims, of course).

If by "gay" you mean "awesome beyond belief", then yes.

To be honest, i agree that those colours (blue, red and yellow) do look a bit weird on a huge structure like that. It would have been better if they only used the red and blue, cause i think it's the addition of yellow that makes it looks so weird. Allianz Arena also uses 3 colours (red, white and blue) but never all 3 mixed together, as far as i know, and it makes all the difference.

Googling revelas that they sometimes do use the 3 colours together but not randomly mixed (like in the Camp Nou pic). Instead, the periphery is separated into 3 areas, which still looks cool.

I think this is what Camp Nou should ideally look like (with the red ande blue):

Yes is very probable that yellow is the colour that does it look weird.

Yeah, it looks much better than that big, camp, brightly coloured, limp wristed gay club in Barcelona.

At least the new plans make better use of the word ''camp'' in it's name.

In the last 30 years (ie the non-Franco years), Barca has 21 wins and 4 losses in the Camp Nou against Real (for the league). Real only has 18 wins against us in the Bernabeu and we beat you there 6 times.

So, gay club or not, we'll continue to have our fun with you.

The funny thing is that Barcelona supporters consider a good season that one where they don't win a tittle but beat Real Madrid in a match Shocked I think that's pathetic.

But, check out the Champions League matches, and tell me who won more.

No need to fabricate statistics mate. Wink I was only joking around with all the gay comments. I actually have a lot of respect for Barca. A huge amount of respect.
