Come on Floody you Biscuit-Boy! Smile

I'm looking forward to this game as we're going to see some of the younger players such as Jack Hobbs, El Zahr, Lucas Leiva, Leto and a few others mixed in with a few senior players. Itandje might be in goal for Reina so it will be his first game for Liverpool, and he'll get some much needed experience of English football if he plays. I'm very interested in seeing how good he is, he's another one along with Leiva that I havnt got an opinion on at the moment as I havnt seen either of them play yet.

I think Gerrard will be rested for this game, Rafa has been saying today how he doesnt think Gerrard is '100% physically fresh' so maybe Leiva will take his place in the middle. I'm not sure Carragher will be risked either with the injury to Agger leaving us with few options at centre-half, hopefully Jack Hobbs will take his place alongside Hyypia maybe.

Crouch hasnt been getting much action in the premiership so I expect him to start, I'm not quite sure who Rafa will partner him with. I get the feeling Torres will be rested so It will either be Voronin or El Zahr.

From what Floody was saying when the draw was announced Reading may also select a few of the younger players from their squad so I don't really know how this game will go, it's hard to make a prediction if there's going to be so many changes from both sides.

Possible Liverpool line-up

................................Itandje...................................

..Finnan.............Hobbs............Hyypia.......Insua...........

Benayoun..........Sissoko...............Leiva.........Leto.......

.....................Crouch.............El Zahr........................

The only thing i am looking for from this game is promising performances from certain youngsters and squad players that have been disappointing. Frankly, while of course it would be great to beat a Liverpool side, we could do with losing gracefully and focusing on the League. A cup run is not high on my list of priorities.

It's going to be nearly impossible to predict a lineup with the changes etc but i would hazard a guess at:

----------------------------------Federici---------------------------------

---------De La Cruz---------Bikey----------Duberry-----------Golbourne

---------Rosenior -----------Fae----------Harper------------Convey

-----------------------Lita----------------------Long

I this Lita's first game back from injury? I didn't catch much of the Reading game the other day.

What's Golbourne like then? He's one ive never heard of.

Nah Lita was dropped at the Weekend altogether due to two awful performances against West Ham and Sunderland. He has a hell of a lot to prove at the moment so he better get his head down and start improving.... quickly.

I'm a big fan of Golbourne. He's a 19 year old left back we signed from Bristol City a couple of years back and he has been in the reserves and out on lona with the likes of Wycombe last season. He's quick, versatile, strong and very determined and made his debut against Bolton a couple of weeks ago.

If there are two threats in that team that i estimate we will play then they are Convey and Long. Convey is playing out of his skin from the bench currently to try and win a place back in the team and Long is also out to prove a point.

Ive been impressed whenever ive Seen Long play, especially for Ireland. He looks to be a very good finisher.

And thats the great thing about Longy... finishing is not the strongest aspect of his game. He does well when he gets the chances, as he showed last season and for the national side, but Long's presence in the side when he is playing is vital. He's very physical, likes to put himself about a lot, cause disruption and generally try and create chances for his strike partner. I think i have spoken on a few occasions on here at my huge hopes for Long and i don't think it's any coincidence we have him signed up on a new five year deal.

Half time. Got this up on sopcast because i could not make the game this evening and i have to say that was a very entertaining half we have dominated possession for the majority and are moving the ball around with purpose and determination - which is great to see. Fae is doing brilliantly in that role as the defensive Midfielder and is carrying the ball forward well to. Bikey has put in some great tackles and has kept Torres quiet whilst Longy's determination is admirable but is showing his inexperience a little with regards to the timings of his runs etc.

Good strike from Bobby.

wtf is this ref doing!?

The Reading defenders keep taking Torres' legs out and he's giving nothing, that foul by Bikey was definitley a penalty.

Do me a favour. He should have given a free kick for a tug outside the box but he just tripped up in the box and once again Torres goes down like a cheap hooker.

that was a penalty. no doubt.

you mention the tug outside the box, that was minor, Torres still had an advantage. he was then tripped in the box with pathetic clumsiness.

2-2 now anyway

Did Bikey get the ball? No.
He took him out and the ref gave nothing then Duberry took Torres out again and he only gave a free and yellow to Duberry because he realised he'd f*cked it up. 2-2 now anyway.

No i mean Bikey tripped up... so why is that 'pathetic' clumsiness'?

I've seen it again and it has changed my mind.

But [beep!] it we have had some terrible decisions go against us this season.

because he brought the player down. what made him fall over and do that? nothing, he was just mugged off and stumbled in desperation like a fat kid on sports day who loses a race and throws himself to the ground in search of sympathy.

Torres is either very very impressive or the Reading defence are just clueless against a bit of skill. bit of both i presume

Sure you've got nothing against us? Most of your posts to do with us stink of criticism and little digs.

Three of that back four are not first choice and Torres is playing very well.

3-2 to Liverpool would suit me down to the ground.
