It was between Matejovsky and Keane for me but I went for Keane in the end simply for the importance of the goal, the pattern the match was playing along and just how the ball dropped and he turned and took it first time.

Matejovsky's was brilliant but I think Keane shades it.

Does your avatar play down the sadness of us doing the double?

How does it taste?

Bitter?

Matejovsky for me. It takes some strike to leave Reina standing rooted to the ground

Even though the resulting free-kick should never have been, and the goal itself should never of entered into existence, i won't begrudge Matejovsky my vote.

I agree with Tez though, it's hard to remember them all, or even most of them.

Ronaldo vs. Villa won Match of the Day's Goal of the Month... The little flick, where the 'keeper was unsighted by about five players.

Indeed.

I'm going to start of this Months nominations with, even though it was an open goal, Stilyian Petrov against Derby. He didn't have any time to react and he was quite a distance out, caught t superbly well.

Can I nominate a goal from the Sunderland Man City match - no not Vassell's scuffed trickle over the line, but Whitehead's side-footed volley for the Black Cat's - great finish.

Petrov will be hard to beat. The way he hit the ball on the bounce and straight into the top corner was unreal.
