His recent outburst about the unfair pressure he's under was hilarious. Just excuse after excuse with him.

Well if we had a real manager I migth be excepeting a 1-0 win for us. But I'll go for 3-0 Germany.

Cant see us doing much either, he keeps picking reserve players that cant even get a game for Championship teams in England and yet expects them to perform against these sort of teams. Darren Gibson for example, I mean does anyone even know who he is??

Colin Healy at Cork City has been playing class lately but still he just completely ignores our own national league.

The Germans are on brilliant form, and I watched some of the Wales game where they ripped them apart for fun.

I can see it being a high score defeat unfortunately.

You can't blame Staunton much. At times he has got some of the tactics spot on, but the players just haven't performed. Although I'm clueless as to why McGeady and Kilbane get on.

You can blame him alot & John Delaney.

It's not Staunton's fault that he is tactically inept and that nobody else wanted the job.

Well I can lift cones aswell they should have given me the job.

Staunton is an embarassment. My opninion may be a little biased but i believe Hunt should be starting for Ireland.

Hunt should be starting for Irleand.

Its more the FAI's fault than Stauntons in my opinion, he was offered the job to take over his country and realistically he was hardly going to reject it. Hes doing the job to the best of his abilities and its John Delaney and co that should resign after the qualifiers finish.

On the injury front..Ireland & Carr both ruled out today. Not bothered about Carr but Ireland has been playing well.

Yup, Steaky Hunt should walk into the First XI.

I'd even play Shane Long before McGeady on the right of Midfield anyday.

Oh well it was 0 - 0 and the Germans go through.

I was flicking between this game & the rugby, but from what I could see the Irish played really well - Andy Reid was spraying round some good balls and weighted passes - they certainly weren't dominated by the Germans who showed the odd flash but didn't really threaten.

Apparently one of the German contingent was saying Croke Park had no atmosphere a couple of days back

Good to see Longy get on for another cap. Looked lively from what i saw also.

Unlucky lads. Decent effort, but it was always going to be a mission impossible what with the Czechs & Germans there.

I didnt watch the game, was watching the rugby instead but judging by the highlights we played quite well and Germany were never really on top. Andy Reid seemed to have a good game

I watched the whole match and it was probably our best performance of the whole qualification, Reid got MOTM and rightly so, he played brilliantly and if the German CB's hadn't of been on such top form as they were then we could of sneaked a goal.

Doyle and Keane were disapointing again, especially Keane he missed a few sitters.

Long looked good when he came on, forcing a good save from Lehmann and it was a shame Hunt was suspended as he was just what we needed.

Solid performance from the defence, young Joey O'Brien and Richard Dunne kept Gomez and Kuranyi at bay for most of the game, good game for Finnan too, he headed the ball off the line in the first half.

It's time for the FAI to take action and give Stan the boot. He really hasn't a f*cking clue. If he stays I fear our WC qualification will be over before it starts...

To be the fair the Czechs havent been playing that well themselves latley. I think they were lucky they got such a poor group.

If we can find a good experienced Manager then it'd be great. I think we've got plenty of young talent coming through and we just need a tactically able Manager to start getting proper performances from the team.

The appointment of Staunton was one of those huge gambles in Football that either could have turned out to be a stroke of genius by uncovering a gem of a manager or a complete failure by him turning out to be a clueless dud.
