Norwich City manager Peter Grant has left the club after one year in charge. The Carrow Road club confirmed he had left by "mutual consent", leaving assistant boss Jim Duffy to take over while a permanent replacement is found.

Lengthy discussions took place between Grant and the board following the club's 1-0 loss at QPR on Monday.

"It was a very difficult decision for us to make but it was right for myself and the football club going forward," Grant told Norwich City's website.

"The most important things for me have always been the supporters and the club itself. They are the two constants while managers and players come and go.

"Unfortunately for me, I feel that the balls haven't bounced the right way for me over the last 12 months.

"I have had fantastic support from the board from minute one right up until the time of leaving, but we are in a results-driven business and I don't like being second best at anything.

"I would like to thank everyone for the support they have given me and I wish nothing but success for Norwich City now and forever."

Geez, Norwich are falling to pieces. They can't score a goal let alone win a game, the coach has left and players are coming out and saying it's a terrible team. Norwich were predicted to finish high this season and I know it's only about 10 games in, but they're going to have a big task on their hands of just staying up Confused

Any idea who could replace Grant?

Wow my predictions came true! I said that Taylor and Grant would be the first to leave their respective clubs. Both Palace and Norwich still cling onto the hopes that they still are in the bracket of contenders and they are desperate to return to the Premiership.

It ain't all doom and gloom just look at Sunderland last year, if we get the right manager we may still sneak into the playoffs yet.

Rumour is that Pierre Littbarski has put his hand up to manage us with Ian Crook as Assistant. Hopefully the board has enough sense to reject the offer. for the love of god NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Evil or Very Mad Rolling Eyes

Good choice. Knows what needs to be done to get out of the division, especially on a tight budget.

Much better than Littbarksi Laughing

I saw Norwich at Burnley this Tuesday. From that performance i would say you will pull away from a relegation battle. I was surprised to see Cureton on the bench and very disappointed with Chadwick's contribution. The fat Bast Hartson did very well when he came on even though he made Unsworth look like Kate Moss. Huckerby played very well and got plenty of good crosses in. The away supporters made as much noise as any away supporters this year. Good luck for the rest of the season.
