Zenit - AZ 1:1 in the
Everton's group seems to be a mere accident. AZ was totally put down in the first 10 or 15 minutes and then suddenly scored in an absolutely illogical manner. Zenit equalled in a few minutes, and a few minutes later a Dutchman was sent off. It seemed at the moment that the matter was done, and Zenit began to think more about the next game in the national championship where they are fighting hard for the title with Spartak (all the more that Spartak did not play this Thirsday). They were dead sure that it wouldn't take them much effort to succeed, and they remained dead sure up to the very end. Judging from the yesterday's performance, the Dutch do not seem to have too many chances to qualify. Of course, they may be quite different at home.
Now Zenit goes to Larissa, and then Nuremberg comes to Saint Petersburg. Six points in these two games - and the visit to
Liverpool on the last day would be a mere formality. Nuremberg now has three of their best forwards out, including our Saenko.
