The match was 2nd to last in the 1st group stage. I've been to that match and as you siad I had to go fly to Cyprus to see Haifa's "home" games that year. I cant belive I'm this debate again.
ManU had 5 or 6 player from their regular 11 on the pitch, that's hardly the reserve team. I agree it wasnt their strongest team but calling P. Neville, G. Neville , O'Shea, Solskjaer , Rio Ferdinand , Silvestre and Paul Scholes reserve that's just bull. |
I wasn't in Cyprus at the time so i admit that my memory failed me on this one. For some reason i thought that players like Scholes and Solskjaer only came in later in the game, as subs, and i didn't remember Ferdinand in that game at all. After googling the game to refresh my memory it turns out United's only major absences were Beckham and Veron. So, apologies for the confusion.
