Getafe president Angel Torres is convinced that Barcelona's cycle is coming to an end.

After their shock 2-0 win on Sunday, Torres didn't hold back: "What's happened to Barcelona is the same that happened to Real Madrid three years ago. The big teams, after two or three years of success, have a downturn.

"Despite having the best squad in the world, no-one can stay at the top for seven or eight consecutive years."

Torres believes Barca also have taken too big a gamble with bringing in the likes of Gianluca Zambrotta, Thierry Henry and Yaya Toure from outside the Primera Liga.

"It always takes at least four years for those players signed from outside of Spain to show their best in this Liga," said Torres. "Barca have great players, but they're not working for eachother."

I think hes talking pish about 4years though.

Yeah, it is weird. I think some serious changes need to be made to get Barca playing again. Wether that be Ronaldinho and Rijkaard out i'm not sure, but that's probably what i would do.

With Ronaldinho gone, there could be situation similar to that at Arsenal at the moment. Losing the main man could get the best out of the others.

The guy is entitled to his own opinion, he is right when he says that Barca has taken a downturn...even a blind man can see that.

even last season their were rumblings that rykard wasn't happy, maybe barca need to look for another manager and let him move on...

Lyon have managed to do it six times in a row.. Ok, Ligue 1 is not to be comparred with La Liga, but still it must be som challenge to win six consecutive league titles.

Dave, Angel Torres is not the manager of Getafe, he's the chair man.. Michael Laudrup is the manager. And John Jensen is his assistant...

Another proof that it is possible.. Without offending you, though, I think it may be less of a task to claim the Scottish title 9 times in a row, than the french.. U know, Rangers arent much of a competitor.. Wink
