In another section, flipper was asking about a Man U women's team.

It prompted me to ask:

Which men's team and which women's team do you support?

I support Arsenal for both - Arsenal men before your grandparents were born (well, for most of you), and Arsenal ladies for last 2 years (it will be 2 years since I first went to any women's footie on Nov 27th).

Also - which are you most keen on?
As an Arsenal ladies' fan, I was very unhappy on Wednesday, but would love it if the men managed to copy the ladies over the next season. Maybe I'm hedging my bets, but it's nice to support 2 teams, both of which have managed a league season undefeated recently.

You can always get tix for women's games, but not for men's, and they're so expensive too, so it makes it easier to see women's games, and makes me feel closer to the women than the men - they are much more approachable.

And, as a Welshman, I had to feel that England (men) losing to Croatia the other day made up a little for our defeat by the same score.
But - before you accuse me of being nasty to the English, I will be supporting England v Spain (women) at Shrewsbury on Sunday - tomorrow in fact. Ron and I have our tix ready for the game Wink

(Anyone who wants a programme - please PM me asap Wink)

Leeds and Leeds, where I was born.

Obviously a fan of Arsenal mens (will go when Leeds are back) and also a fan of Arsenal Ladies.
In fact I could name the Arsenal squad and only one player from the Leeds squad. Shocking.

England/England.

Croatia mens too. Do they have a womens Croat national team? Laughing

As most people know I support Manchester United , but I also support the Arsenal Ladies and the USA women's national team. Plus both the England men's and women's teams.

I actually do prefer to watch the women play , a lot less play acting goes on and the game is more fluent. Also the girls tend to fight for their team more Wink

I support bradford city men and Arsenal ladies, I don't have much time for the england men's team and unlike a lot of people I would much rather go see the england ladies play.

As a rule I do support the womens game I go see leeds ladies when I can and I saw doncaster belles v Chelsea.

I support both Arsenal FC and Arsenal Ladies FC. I have to say that I am not as interested in the men because the games are far too expensive to go to and I feel I have more interest in the women's team. I will always look for the results of the women's game first than look at how the men are doing, if the men lose it doesn't mean as much as when the women lose Confused

It would if you went to the Emirates and had to pay double the cost for that one game than for the whole season tic at B'Wood Wink

Anyway, it seems that the men aren't losing these days Wink

Different country but i'll be supporting a Newcastle women's team if we get one in the new league next year. The old Women's League folded about 3 years ago but after the success of the A-League, Socceroos and the Matilda's at this years WWC there's going to be a new league next season.

They have a little triangular tournament going on now with 3 teams, 1 each from Newcastle, Sydney and Qld who are playing matches as curtain raisers for A-League games. The first one was on Sunday (Newc v Syd) and it saw the Newcastle run out winners 4 - 2 in a cracking game. Newc had 6 Matilda's, Sydney had 4 (i'm not sure how the teams were chosen as not all were from Newc or Syd) but it was a big success. There was even a goal from halfway Shocked and one from about 25 yards out.

Sorry to babble on, but I was very impressed on Sunday and hope Newcastle get a team next season Very Happy. I'm sure some of you know about some of our (Matilda's) players.

Quite a few of the Aussie player's have impressed me. It's good to hear that Australia as a country are taking the sport seriously and getting a league back up and running.

Do any matches get televised out there ?

Every A-League match gets shown live, but as I said the Women's league will commence next year. However, I don't think it will get any TV coverage Sad Maybe a 30 minute highlight show but it's early days yet.

A 30 minute highlight show would be fantastic, would love something like that here in England rather than the crappy 3 minutes from thefa which I must say has vastly improved with the new woman commentator who sounds like she is as thick as two short planks and doesn't quite know what she is doing! Rolling Eyes This weeks one was the best with her saying absolutely nothing until it showed a goal and she goes "A goal scored..." Laughing

Anyway, it's brilliant to hear that you are gaining an interest in women's football 9nufc9 Cool Hope you carry on watching it Wink

Yes - I seem to have developed a soft spot for Everton ladies - the nearest top team to where I live.

I'm still trying to find out about the really local teams to me - you just get a mention and a pic in the local paper at the end of the season about Colwyn Bay ladies (as they usually win something) - but, too late to start watching them, and I have no idea who, where or when they play.

And I know Llandudno Junction (where I was brought up) have a ladies team, but know even less about them.

Never mind - Everton's not too far away Wink
