Flattering to say the least... A deserved win but not by 3 goals.

And Marseille getting beat 2 - 1

Glad you watched that match Bluey? Wink

Hey, we've got two perfect results now. The Besiktas win, although we still need to beat Marseille, means we could go top if Porto lose or draw.

This has to be the best group (with D as well) - all 4 teams could top the group going into the last game.

The result does flatter us but we should have had the game out of reach in the first half hour, as we were all over Porto with them not having a chance. To concede was stupid and we never really responded - it was probably shock and fear as much as anything.

I think it's a plus that we won through being pegged back though, that just increases confidence.

And Torres confirmed what i thought at the weekend, that he's far far better when under pressure.

No man, it was too big a game to fall asleep during. Anyway, i've only ever fallen asleep during one Liverpool game, but you guys go on about like i d it all the time. Laughing I was really tired when that happened anyway. REALLY TIRED!

Good result for us. I wanted to see more from Babel and Benayoun, but it was Benayoun's first game back, so i guess a below par performance can be excused. As for Babel, well, he's just living up to that tag of not playing well when he starts.

Anyway, good result, we played badly in parts, but well at the start and end. We were lucky to win 4-1, but when we scored the second i thought we would actually go on to win 4-1. We clearly look stronger in attack now. Last season we were struggling to get goals late in games like this.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but has nothing changed? I.e. Liverpool still need to win in Marseille despite the French side losing and Liverpool winning?

Good win in the end but I was very nervous in that second half until we got the second goal. Kewell did well when he came on and played a major part in the Torres goal which was just an amazing finish... this guy is world class! Things are now looking good fo us in the group, just a win against marseille is needed Wink

On a side-note, has the deliberate handball rule been abolished? Ive seen on numerous occasions this season deliberate handballs go unpunished. Stepanov got booked for the challenge on Crouch which lead to the penalty, then Stepanov handballed it to concede the penalty. Shouldnt he have received his second yellow and saw red? Just a little thing on the night but we won so I can't complain, Now bring on Marseille!

Yes. We had to better or match Marseille's result, and the reality was that we'd always have to beat them in two weeks time.

It could have easily gone the other way (2-1 to them) though and that's when the win would be needed.
