I too tend to think a rest was needed. With Chelsea's run in the CL and all the games involved and then traveling here to the states and playing did not give him much time to rest, throw on top of that he's a 90 minute player in almost every game and your bound be be tired. I hope this doesn't carry over into the WC, now is not the time for him to be off, England desperately need him in top form........

Fatigue is definitely going to be a big concern for Lampard and the rest of the England squad come the WC.
Lets hope the club managers take a responsible course of action regarding this and not see the end of a players season after the last final or league game is played. |

When was the last time Lampard missed a premiership game??
Mourino says he wanted him to break the record for consecative games played. The guy will burn himself our if he is not careful. These days I dont think players can afford to play every single competetive game of the season without being rested. Also the summer is meant to be a break, but players dont really get much rest during the summer anymore with tours etc. Could it have anything to do with him becoming a dad? All interesting points, but I think he will be back on form soon enough. |
