Too soon. The kid has pace but needs to work hard on other areas of his game and should remain at Villa where he is guaranteed to start.

Agbonlahor would be an excellent signing for Man Utd but is he worth 15 million?
Sounds a little expensive to me.

David Villa is an exelent player but I agree that Agbonlahor would be the better choice. Villa maybe a better player at the moment and has more experience but Agbonlahor has alot of potential, plus Man Utd is an English team who have a sense of responsibility for its National team.

ermm because abonglahor is english. Villa is not, Abonglahor is younger and is a promising striker and already proved himself in the premiership

And David Villa wouldn't go for £20m. I bet my ass he would cost a lot more, especially with Chelsea sniffing around. Didn't they get a £25m bid rejected last season?

His intelligence on the football pitch is shockingly poor. His pace carries him.

Very overrated in my opinion.

Being English, albeit a bonus, doesn't win you trophies.

No way is he worth 15million.

He has scored 7 goals this seasons, thats not even worth 5 million in my opinion.

Come on Robbie Keane has scored 22 this season and he probably wouldnt go for 15million.

Darren Bent has scored 6 this season and hasnt started more than 6 games, and people laughed at him going for 15 million.

Laughing

But they haven't had their success based on the fact that they've had English players in the side. They've had their success because they've had quality players, be it English, Dutch, French or whatever... Joe_SAFC was suggesting being English is a quality to rate Agbonlahor above David Villa - which, in actual football terms, is wrong. It doesn't make him a better player.

No I don't mean that just because he is english it gives him some kind of magic to make his qualities better than a Spanish striker. I David Villa is a fantasic player and I think at the moment he is better than Abonglahor, but like I said the lad has plenty of potential and if he would move Man Utd and got the games he would become a great asset for England.

Well quite probably. My only point was that being English doesn't give him an edge when concerned with ability, which is what Joe_SAFC alluded to.

Yeah I agree, but the reason for managers in the Premier choose to buy forign player with quality and don't buy quality English player because there is a shortage of them. Many managers come in clubs e.g. Rafa benitez come in to clubs which demand answers quickly. He must think should I develop may players from the acadamy or should I buy players from abroad. Now knows the La Liga quite well so he will go there and buy experiened players that he has seen before. In my opinion that's why there is a shortage.

Sorry I've gone completely of point, but I agree with you ben just because your english doesn't make you better, same goes for brazil or Italy.

Man Utd want Agbonlahor
