A disaster..

..the kickoff i mean. It went straight to them and we Gerrard went down injured.

We got it back with a perfectly legitimate penalty cooly dispatched at the second time of asking by Gerrard. The only question is why was it not a red card for the defender?

A sensational solo effort by Torres completed the second, and put us in comfort zone.

It isn't all over yet though - there's more goals in this game and the next will be decisive. If Marseille get it, we're in for a tense finale; if we do, it's game over.

But we really should be 3-0 up at least by now. Kewell and Torres both hitting over the bar in great situations.

The only downside is that Porto scored at the end of the half - although saying that, we beat Barcelona last year but went out to Benfica the year before at the same stage, so i don't know what i'd prefer.

We just need to get this out of the way though first. Slow the game down and get our passing sharper, then the third will come. Torres can just rip through their defence at ease..

I hope the first round of 16 draw matches up AC Milan and Liverpool.
